Follow Grum's suggestion and see what service speed you are on.

If it's the 64k service I would suggest switching modem off for as long as you can bear to be without it and switching it back on again + see if that gets you the proper DHCP and config file - what are the last 4 digits of your IP address at the moment, are they by any chance .248 or higher? (Not 100% sure it's 248 but is somewhere around there) :)

.214 for the last bit of my IP addy.

Just did the test as suggested and I got:-

Tue, 29 Jul 2003 18:08:25 UTC
1st 128K took 1810 ms = 72415 Bytes/sec = approx 602 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 1810 ms = 72415 Bytes/sec = approx 602 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 1810 ms = 72415 Bytes/sec = approx 602 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 1870 ms = 70092 Bytes/sec = approx 583 kbits/sec

Apart from the 4th test , all the others seem OK or have I misunderstood the figures?
