But, one of my arguments has been that NTL should treat ALL of their customers in the same manner, it should not depend on which advisor you speak to or how much ars4 licking you do. NTL do not have any clear lines that they work on, which is wrong. If your service has been down, you should get some credit to your bill regardless, sadly NTL leave this decision to the cs staff, which imo is wrong. IF you have had no problems with your half price service for 12 months, why should you be entitled to another 12 months half price? please enlighten me.:D |

I do not think they will be bothered leaving you the set top box for the BB, even though you say you will still get bare tv service, which I find questionable.
Surely if you cancel your tv, you will just get the blank screen? |
Re: Cancelling BB and signing up again for £8.99 deal?
lets be realistic here...a mailshot is exactly what it says on the tin.....its sent to everyone on the mailing list...it would not be viable to remove customers already subscribing...and what about customers who may be thinking of taking a second package?

Re: Cancelling BB and signing up again for £8.99 deal?
well I agree with arcamalpha2004 ntl should have a clear policy that is for everyone, I could ring up now threatening to cancel and depending on who I get on the phone I could either end up with no service or 6 months of half price packages, I also happen to think ntl have developed a repuation for backing down on cancellations so a few people tend to ring up knowing whats going to happen and end up with massive discounts, this must be affecting them enough to affect normal prices.

Re: Cancelling BB and signing up again for £8.99 deal?
It may be in the interest of NTL management to turn to their advisors and say, " It is up to you to implement discounts etc if you feel it right."
But, it opens up a can of worms imo. There is no black and white. When I called to downgrade my 1mb to 600k I was polite about the whole thing, which is generally the way I deal on the phone. The whole thing was carried out with no mention of a discount if I stayed on 1mb speed, yet I hear stories about people calling to do the same thing and they are given 6 months discounts etc. There is something radically wrong, and about time cs staff were told to treat all customers the same. |
Re: Cancelling BB and signing up again for £8.99 deal?
NTL do seem very heavy on the intro bargains at the moment - surely a better retention plan would include slightly less great offers and a lower overall price... that said, trying the numbers in my head doesn't really work too well that way - if 10% of people are on 50% of the full price, the avarage works out at 95% doesn't it? not a great deal.
Hmn. I seem to have managed to bork my own argument again. returning you to normal service now :D |

If your spending £80 odd a month with them then that is reduced to £76. A reduction I would be happy to see. |

Thanks SMH :)
Would as I say be a great retainment move, but the recruitment wouldn't be quite as good... I'll be ineterested to see how TWs new marketing goes with the attempt to take away dissilusioned Sky customers :) |
