Do I need to transfer all 3 over to I-Web (and if so what is the costs on renewals). Also, can I have a sort of sub-domain (i.e. harehill at I-Web, and NHAFC poining to a sub-directory of harehill (form firevision), which would maintain the NHAFC look at the top.

Thanks for any help

Hi, You need to choose a package that has at least 2 addon domains, then all you need to do is login to your domain regtistrar, and point the domains to i-web's name servers,

ns1.i-webserver.co.uk
&
ns2.i-webserver.co.uk

The only charges you will incur for your domain names is from your registrar. Normally they wont charge you to change the nameservers. If you have any problems, we can transfer you to our registrar account.

With the addon domains, it means that you will have a directory inside your main hosting package that will serve the files for your addon domain. But it is completely masked, and therefore would appear like this

http://youraddondomain.com/forum/index.php

not http://youraddondomain.yourmaindomai...orum/index.php

Therefore it will make it look like a completely seperate account ;)

Transfers are charged at the same rate as domain registration, as you are also purchasing 1 years renewal at the same time.

And is the live support often offline like now?

The domain name charges are details in the signup process, if you choose to register a domain with us, the prices will be displayed for you.

The live support feature is a new function (as im sure everyone will tell you) that were working on. This should be fully operational in the next 7 days.

I tried the sign up pages & it does not give the domain charges until after I have put all my details in?

When you click the select button your taken to a screen where you choose your package, at the very top you have a domain option..... where you can transfer your domain (just ammend your nameserver records with your current registrar) or you can select the option that says
I want I-Web Solutions to register my domain, this is a new domain.

When you click continue you get a new page that allows you to type in your domain name with a drop down box, if you open the drop down box it displays all of the domains that we can register for you and there pricing. Bear in mind that all of the .uk domains are for 2 years, not 1 :)

Sorry KP to sound dim, but I am pretty new to the hosting lark etc....

I have 3 domains with 1&1 (no hosting), under two account numbers (2 orders at different times).

So, if I request a move, do I use the main one when setting up, then transfer over the other two afterwards ?

KingPhoenix 04-05-2004 18:00

Re: I-Web Solutions - May Day special

Yes you use a "main one" and then add the other 2 after,

However from experience with 1&1 you wont have any control over the domain names.......

Are they .uk domains or standard .com/.net etc?

let me know :)

Two are .me.uk
One is .biz

Is there a charge to transfer ??

Re: I-Web Solutions - May Day special

Oh, and both are domain name only - pointing to my Pipex webspace............

Re: I-Web Solutions - May Day special

OK i would recommend you setup an account with ukreg.com

your .uk will be free to transfer to them, but i think there .biz prices are high (cant honestly remember)

You will need to send 1&1 a signed fax tho before your able to move your .uk domains as you will need them to change the TAG on it...

Last time i used 1&1 they didnt offer the ability to change the name server settings for your domains. This may have changed and you may not need to move them at all.... but like i said, last time i used them this wasnt the case.
