afaik the Nippon gel works because the ants take it back to the nest & feed it to the queen, this prevents the queen laying any more eggs & the colony dies. The point being that you don't really need to know exactly where they are coming in, so long as they are getting to the gel.

Very true, unless the little swines learn that Nippon is bad for them - I've no idea whether ants are really that clever but it sure looked like it by the way they started ignoring it in our house. :Yikes:

Better? Now that'd be a first. If Hemel ants could drive, they'd be croozin around my kitchen in heavily customised Nissan Micras with bass boxes in the boot and implausibly big spoilers.
