No, I didn't mean your spelling of it confused her, I asked her about 'Boonies' a while ago, because Raja has it in his profile.

In the boonies = in the sticks?

Re: Free stuff on the web

Is it not 'Bonny' (Boonies) Scotland?

TheBlueRaja 21-01-2005 16:56

Re: Free stuff on the web

Sorry - to clear this up - i thought that skink4u was confusing bonnies with boonies. Bonnie as in beautiful, and boonies as danief correctly points out is in the sticks.

Spelling was not what i was correcting.

Boonies is a Swedish term which i learned from a friend of mine at work. (Well he's Swedish and he used it so i assumed its a Swedish term).

I thought that Skunk4u has also heard it and confused it with bonnies.

Does that make ANY sense? :D

EDIT: See above posts - looks like i was right....

Mr_love_monkey 21-01-2005 16:59

Re: Free stuff on the web

I always thought boonies was an abbreviation of boondocks? which was something to do with mountains

Actually first of all I got excited because I thought we were talking about boobies...

See my edit (mirriam-webster on-line). It is short for boondocks.

Boondocks:

Etymology: Tagalog bundok mountain
1 : rough country filled with dense brush
2 : a rural area : STICKS

Chris 21-01-2005 17:02

Re: Free stuff on the web

Flippin nora, talk about going off topic ...

Well at least I know what Boonies means, although I'm not sure it applies to a great city like Glasgow?

Actually, Skunk was right, if by Bonnies, he means the bonny banks of Loch Lomond, which is where I live. :D

Now, has anybody got any more freebie links to post?

Go here:

And change the option about two thirds of the way down the screen. But only if you want hardcore p0rn to spontaneously appear every time you run an image search.

Free international / national tv

I have done a search but could not see anything about this, basically it gives you umpteen countries with various stations to stream tv with, I found it on another site, It's not fantastic quality but worth a look IMHO. If anyone tries it and they manage to get MTV, could they let me know how / with what player.

TIA

ieSpell does not work on this forum if you are using the WYSIWYG interface. It will tell you the spellcheck is complete but it will only spellcheck the post title, not the body of the post. You have to turn WYSIWYG off for it to work.

If you add this to your basket and then use the following promo code during checkout

Promo code: CHBH

The promo code gives a £5 discount on your order

thus the total cost goes to £0 :D

oh and you dont even have to bother filling in the credit card detials section.
