This place in Tooting, London used to be the place to go for fried chicken. Now the I don't know what it's meant to be. Different signage. Chicken tastes different. Chips different. I don't know what to make of it. Dirty chicken and chips is no more. It just tastes of nothing. It used to have a distinctive taste even the chips. :(

Heron in downham market, really good, hearty food, enjoyed it a lot

Potters Hopton, I feel like a stuffed Christmas ham after 3 days of being fed four times a day, don't think I missed a meal apart from supper, made up for it with four courses at lunch and dinner though. The foods not what it was but it's still well above average and cooked to perfection.

Gutted about the beefeater, love 'em. Struggling to think of a similar chain, harvester, weatherspoons, toby aren't my thing

Yeah, we also visit Hungry Horse quite a few times, they are pretty good.
I dont mind Harvester, we went there last weekend, also Miller & Carter, but they are expensive.

Kismet in Crawley. Double, 2x quarter pound grilled chicken patties burger cheese, cabbage, onions, garlic sauce. Small chips topped with their house chillies sauce. Can of Pepsi.

A couple days ago I ate at Mcdonalds..

I got noodles and chicken both sweet chilli and sweet and sour. Noodles tasted of tomato ketchup. Sweet and sour was overly sweet. Sweet chilli was nice. Near £11 for a large mix and match tub. I won't be going back. I thought of street food which is why I went in. Nandos was close by. I was kicking myself :cry:

Gong to Castlewood on Sunday, a Brewers Fayre.

I last ate at Mcdonalds and had 3 yummy cheeseburgers with extra catchup,extra onions and mac sauce :)

They were so good!

A local shop was converted into a Tapas bar earlier this year by a chef who had a dream of making authentic Spanish and Mexican dishes. So far we’ve been there nine times, and the food has always been fantastic.

You can keep your fast food franchises and pub chains and their pre-prepared microwaved mush. Nothing better than freshly prepared, well cooked, and well seasoned food.

Troy Kebab House in Crawley. Doner kebab with extra salad. Salad paired with junk is palatable yum.

I'd love to find places that do lamb doner made with meat not the elephant's foot thing, how it was originally intended to be done. Souvla is the word in Greek as opposed to souvlaki which is small pieces of meat. And to be offered pork in addition to lamb and chicken, but this would be more Greek and most kebab shops are "Turkish".

There's a German donner kebab in Winchester, its not exactly the original but there is little grease and it actually tastes nice

They are even better with the mac sauce...

The last 2 restaurants I've been to I've had to have my mains returned and had to have taken them off the bill. (And go without).

Seems now they've upped their prices but reduced the standards, quality and quantity to the point where it's just not worth eating out anymore. I can actually cook and do better than a lot of the restaurants in our town so apart for just a couple of places now I will just won't bother anymore. It takes a lot of prep for me to get out now, but seem I end up disappointed all too often. I will not pay high prices for the crap they are now serving.

And one of the best places to eat in my area are now shutting up due to high costs. Even though it is listed as No2 on TripAdvisor for my town and I would agree with that too. Such a shame but it's happening all over.

Even usual takeaways are now crap as well. You can tell they're all cutting corners.

Maybe I should put this in Moan of the day thread lol. Anyway, moan over....

Hmmm.. I got loaded fries, it's hard to mess up a mess that is loaded fries. Bar the jalapeno it was alright. My aunty was recommended to get the Korean glazed strips, she did and was massively disappointed.

On my return to Crawley I got two double cheeseburgers with extra onions from McDonald's.

Went to the local Beefeater on Sunday, enjoyed it as always. :)
Been going for over 25 years, but this was the last visit as they all close in a few weeks. :(

Bar + Block, will close on September 3.
Table Table and Cookhouse will close on September 3.
Brewers Fayre will close on September 7.
Beefeater will close on September 10.

I stopped at a restaurant in Tunisia wanting chicken and lamb so they slaughtered the animals to order. I was offered the chance to slaughter but I had my new shoes on. I regret it but hey ho. I can't remember the name of the restaurant.

Fresh lamb fat is delicious, freezing it makes it smell.

Chicken was amazing. Peri peri with mediterranean herbs. Freshly cut chips were nostalgic.

I also ate out at oggi, a fast food chain. The fried chicken was tasty. Chips mediocre.

The hotels food not so nice. :(

The Gurkha Spice in Weeke, Winchester to celebrate my wife's birthday a day early, just the two of us. Very nice, we got dishes in each course that had very different flavours and textures. (One place we went to every dish was brown.)


Then for there birthday to Mixa in the city centre. This was a nice Greek restaurant called Yiayia's but now is a sort of tapas/mezza. Food was OK but expensive to a dinner so we left after one course and went to the Asia Food Hall for some Vietnamese. Much cheaper and better.

Just got back from the best little steakhouse in Nottinghamshire - Porterhouse by Barlows.

Perfectly cooked 10oz ribeye, with proper chips cooked in dripping.

Certainly a good idea for a butcher to have their own restaurant.

The Fez, Catalkoy.

Ribs for starters, Fillet Steak for mains, washed down by some fairly average red wine - the restaurant is good for food (full of immigrants, sorry, ex-pats), but lacking in reasonable wine; the regulars mainly drink Efes or Tuborg, so not much call for it (the lady who owns the place said).

I went to the drive thru at mcdonalds today and it was the WORST MEAL i have ever had from there!!

We ordered 3 cheeseburgers with extra onions,extra catchuo and mack sauce... One of them DID NOT HAVE MAC SAUCE ON IT..

All 3 had those reg onions that they put on quarter pounders which I dont like!!

I like the DICED onions they have always had... With how crappy things are going,I wouldnt be surprised if they got rid of the diced onions!!

I only ate 2 of my burgers,they were disgusting.. My dad ate the 3rd and said it tasted crappy....

These places wonder why they are failing.. (Tv networks,etc)
