In a stunning turn of events, newly revealed court papers allege that Virginia Giuffre, one of the chief accusers of Jeffrey Epstein, his alleged sex-trafficking madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, and the beleaguered Prince Andrew, was in fact a working prostitute who lied about her age during her time in Epstein’s harem and who he paid off to the tune of a half million dollars, the Telegraph reports.

Or to put it another way the trafficked 17 year old, or the 'alleged" child abuser... Let it go to court and find out, somehow I dont think Andy wants that for some reason, and would rather pay to make it go away.

Indeed, absolutely screams of innocence.

However on the flip side of it, i have to ask of the victim what's more important, the money? or the requirement for justice?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...ement-epstein/

Quote:

In a one-page statement filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Tuesday, the parties agreed that Andrew “never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks..”

The statement continues that it is “known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others."

"He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims,” the statement continues.

The settlement comes shortly after a federal judge in New York overseeing the lawsuit sought help from courts in the United Kingdom and Australia to secure the testimony of witnesses living in those countries.

A notice filed to the same judge on Tuesday said that, in light of the settlement, Giuffre would be withdrawing her civil claims against Andrew.

No. The only reason you settle is because you think there is a chance you may lose.

He is “ not guilty” only because it has not gone to trial.

I hope he now disappears under a rock and doesn’t return.

In regards to her, It’s not like she was driven around in a taxi in Rotherham or Rochdale. She’s already been compensated - but she’s done well to squeeze a bit more cash out it all.

It was a civil lawsuit so never a case of guilt or innocence. In English law the correct term is liability. Not certain of the equivalent in the US but it will be similar. By settling out of court he will never be held liable for any of the things in her complaint. Whether or not he did them, we will never really know.

£7.5m is still a lot but other sources seem to think it's closer to that.

Yeah right, the lawyers did it for free? No paid TV appearances to come?

The only "pressure" for any situation she alleged to have been, was all in her own mind, ie feeling "obliged" for being taken on trips.
Just as there was a case in the US where a woman cried rape on the basis she felt "obliged", because she was in a relationship. The guy's career was trashed, of course, but after investigation no case was found.
