I knew it was to be animated, but it looks dreadful.
The style and look of the characters looks a bit like despicable me. |
Re: Films to see in 2019
Looks absolutely amazing and i am over the moon they have kept the original music.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
That looks absolutely spectacular.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
sure does, I bet it is going to come close to the $2bn mark at the box office and I bet it is going to beat Star Wars this year. I think it is going to be the second highest grossing film of the year behind Endgame.

Latest Dark Phoenix trailer.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
I know some people weren't too keen on it based on the first couple of teasers and trailers but I think this one makes it look really good.

Re: Films to see in 2019
Was Aquaman worth it as may watch it later on Kodi?
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
Yeah definitely. If you are looking at recent films Escape Room is worth a watch as well.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
Yeah Aquaman is actually pretty good.

Re: Films to see in 2019
Yes i enjoyed Aquaman, it was worth it.

I thought it was an SNL thing at first.

Re: Films to see in 2019
So they're already backtracking and redesigning the character. Who threw 90 million at this crap?

At least they appear to be listening.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
This has just made it look a million times better. I love how they have tied it into the events of Endgame and it just makes the whole universe (MCU) more realistic. I love it! |

Re: Films to see in 2019
If you are wanting to watch Endgame at the cinema i cant suggest strongly enough how much better it is going to be for you if you start right at the beginning. You might think you remember everything from Iron Man and Captain America etc but you will be amazed the difference it makes starting from scratch. The excitement and anticipation builds with each film and you become completely engrossed in them as you realise it is all one big story. I did it last year for Infinity War and it felt fantastic. I wasnt planning to do it this year but fate said otherwise and i broke my wrist so i had nothing but time to watch them. I timed it just right so i finished Black Panther and Antman and the Wasp on the Wednesday Endgame came out and then i went to see the doublebill with Infinity War. It was a magical experience. (I had seen Captain Marvel four times at the cinema recently).

Usually don't go to the Cinema now, as it is too expensive and I like watching on Kodi at home. |

I am feeling a lot happier about it now but I still don't think it is going to be as good as the cartoon:

You're a TV and Movie buffer General so I guess you must also use Trakt.tv as it works great with Kodi and Plex?

I had no idea they were making a 3rd movie. Butler is certainly an actor that stars in movies noone really asks for lol.

I have indeed. His earlier movies were always a lot better.

Hmmm. Not selling the film to me with that teaser.
Yeah to Linda Hamilton though. |
Re: Films to see in 2019
I know what you mean. I know it is supposed to be a sequel to T2 so it makes sense that the T1000 or whatever he is is the bad guy to beat but surely it is going to be the case that they don't stand a chance and everything they throw at him only slows him down at best and we'll be waiting for some quirky finale where he get obliterated in a new creative and effects-costly way?
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
Not sure model number he will be, however it lookslikea cross betweem the T-800 and T-1000. As it has an exo skeleton cover in a liquid metal that can come off and work independently.
Think it maybe the music that's not doing it for me. |

Rambo - Last Blood
I'm a big Rambo fan but this film from the trailer looks crap it doesn't grab the whole Rambo appeal for me and just looks like any other action movie. Wish he'd done his last film a bit like the last movie |
Re: Films to see in 2019
I think it looks ok, but I guess they couldn't do it like the last one as he is so much older now, and he had to write it like that as Rambo is now an OAP.

Have you seen the first two films? Olympus Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen?
|
Re: Films to see in 2019

Yeah seen the first two. Olympus was pretty decent, but London was a bit much. I think Angel will be way OTT. |
Re: Films to see in 2019
yeah, I think it is going to be very 24-esque and kill my realism factor. You get the impression from the trailer that just because he is the only secret service agent to survive an attack on the president that he is under immediate suspicion. You would think that given his history and what he has done that he is beyond repute and the one person they can trust implicitly and want by the president's side 24/7.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
That would be easy and wouldn't make for an exciting film. Look at Mission Impossible, Ethan Hunt is always under suspicion and has to prove otherwise.

Re: Films to see in 2019
I am Mother (Netflix).
It’s a story about the bond between a mother and child where the mother is a robot - lots of plot twists. |

Re: Films to see in 2019
The more I see and hear of The Lion King, the more I thinks it's going to be the best of Disney's live action remakes. Maybe as it's just cgi and there are no human actors on screen.
|
Re: Films to see in 2019
The Lion King as in the pure story is amazing anyway and to translate that to live action with the music and songs as well is going to be phenomenal. I hope it is the highest grossing Disney film ever because it looks like it should be.

Re: Films to see in 2019
It's not on the main list but it is out on 26th July if you are interested. I love watching films like this because we always think that technological leaps like this (e.g. solar power and wind turbines) come around with people sitting down and assessing needs, debating options and developing logical and planned solutions and all too often we don't realise the adversity and struggles they endured.

Not coming out till 2020 but I thought it was worth a tease. I am loving these live action remakes and The Lion King is out soon.
It's going to make a fortune because everyone in China is going to watch it. |
Re: Films to see in 2019
That does look great. Seems more based on the Mulan story itself rather than a straight remake of the animation like most of the others.
