Well done young Verstappen.

Well Rosberg was in the wrong engine mode, thus slower than Hamilton and left a gap the Hamilton took, but Rosberg pulled into him.

So technically his fault.

http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/240...crash-analysed

This makes intresting reading, watch the video in the report.

=================

Another explanation>-

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/...ment_124484991

In this report there is a section of interest:-

Quote:

Rosberg said: "I saw Lewis closing in, so as soon as I could I closed the door to the inside with a clear strong move to make sure he understands there is not going to be space there and I was very surprised that he went for it anyway. That's it. Then we were in the sand trap.
"In the end, we have to go with what the experts think and the experts have decided it was a racing incident."
Technically, Rosberg had breached article 27.7 of the sporting regulations, which requires the leading driver to leave room if there is a "significant proportion of the car attempting to pass alongside".

I have to say though that after Hamilton had made the good start to keep in front he moved over to the left too quickly and made it easy for Rosberg to pass him in the first place.

adzii_nufc 29-05-2016 21:31

Re: 2016 Formula 1 Season Thread

Diabolical stuff from Rosberg. Can't understand all the whinging with him if he absolutely bottles races to increase his lead. He made no attempt today to actually race and seemed content to attempt to ward Hamilton off rather than gun it for a win. Hamilton showed why he's never out of it, risked his car in every corner after getting let past the miserable Rosberg. I've seen Rosberg pull out a wet race masterclass before so there's no excuse for today.

Naturally it was a very cautious race for most. I enjoyed that track and it defenitely needs a full time place. Just need the drivers to get to grips with it before we get some proper racing.

The rule blocking teams advising drivers for car issues is nonsense. That's quite an incredibly stupid rule. Affected Hamilton and was it Kimi too? I wouldn't want anyone stuck in limbo because of daft regulations. Happy to see a more open title race but I don't trust Rosberg to not pull another Monaco soon.

Never want to see people punished but that was an awful bit of driving by Rosberg.

---------- Post added at 16:24 ---------- Previous post was at 15:51 ----------

Actually. He literally made no attempt to make that turn. Everything that happened there was intentional and Nico's comments did nothing but confirm it and likely land him guilty already. Its yet another case of Rosberg being unable to shake off Hamilton any time he's in front and again throwing the dummy out and evidently trying just about anything to make sure Hamilton can't pass... Rather than you know.. Being faster and more precise, racing I think they call it.

Said it earlier in the season at Monaco in which he was so slow he was backing everyone up and never really have a reason for what he was doing besides lapping like a Nissan leaf.

Not the same at all, you can watch from the in car HAM steers but drifts wide, today ROS just plain didnt steer, the aerial shot shows him far away from the apex and racing line he's in the next postcode !

Nothing surprising then. Did ask after Monaco, how long it'd be before Rosberg pulled off another shocker.

I thought he was one if the best rain hit drivers but he's showing himself as a truly awful driver from the lead when he's actually got someone to race. Its easy to give credit when he's 40 seconds ahead. Completely different story when he's pressured. See Monaco and how slow he was. I refuse to believe it was the car and was rather him trying to back up the faster Hamilton.

Not seen him do anything like this though. I'd love to have just called it an accident but all the evidence says its completely deliberate. Its dangerous for a team and another incident could see Rosberg dropped for a younger driver. Giving Mercedes a clear run each year.

Excellent, hopefully this means someone else will be off at the end of the season.

I've been asked why I don't like Hamilton, and here are a few reasons.

1. He's way too arrogant for his own good
2. I don't think he is that good a driver, merely driving for the right team at the right time
3. I don't like the way he has treated Nicole Scherzinger
4. Main one, I don't like him because of dumping all over Stevenage

4. Main one, I don't like him because of dumping all over Stevenage--Stevenage ASDA used to have an F1 silhouette and reserved parking space by the door for Lewis.-

I would also say him being German makes no difference, it will be down to which driver gives the best results, which is seen as better advertising for the team and whether they want to stay or not if offered an extension after 2018.

In my opinion LH is by far the better driver and judging by the last 5 races where he has removed Rosbergs lead i fully expect him to win the championship again this year unless he makes mistakes or his car goes pear shaped and Rosbergs doesn't.

Only time will tell i guess.

Drab race. Was no Race at the end thanks to back markers holding up both Mercedes. They were pretty close to each other throughout but again that blue flag ignoring made sure both Mercedes never got the chance to race each other. Hamilton lost a second on Guttierez, Rosberg lost that gained second a lap later by being held up.

Just unfortunate to run into lapped cars in the last 15 laps.

Wasn't the most exciting race in the world abut a calm measured race by HAM. Did just enough to win whilst minimizing the stress on engine and gearbox.

My only concern is that this measured driving with the field close by is he is vulnerable to one locked brake or half spin. I would love to seen a true flat out lights to flag race really see these cars stretch their legs rather than having to constantly manage the tyres and engine.

ROS is a fast driver for sure, just not convinced is a match for HAM as a RACING driver.

Yeah I think the Red Bull's are going to get in the way of the regular Merc one two. any sort of issue and you will be fourth at least. VET wasn't that far behind either.

ROS is quick but seems to struggle if he isn't in the lead.....

Or gets run off the track by his teammate, or given stupid penalties for nothing or they manufacture a car problem.

I apologise, was feeling low when I posted that. Made a bit of a fool of myself yesterday and was still smarting when I posted.

OK,

Olympics been and gone.

Back to F1 this weekend. Any predictions from you ?

My thoughts;

HAM will postpone engine penalty until Monza
ROS will nick pole
HAM will half spin in the first five laps
Red Bulls will push ROS hard
Ferrari wont have woken up after summer break
Weather will interfere
HAM will win..........

Glad I didn't go to Ladbrookes with own preidcitions....

Good result for HAM though. ROS really didnt look happy and was booed again.

Other bookmakers are available ;)

Which means Williams could pay him what he wants.

Williams said the other day they're not interested now due to his dithering, hopefully that could change, although he is still employed by Mclaren as an ambassador for 2 years and could actually race for them in 2018 although i think that unlikely.

Bad start for LH at Monza dropping to 6th i hope he can still win but i won't hold my breath.

Rosberg only wins when Lewis has problems.

More important things on my mind today/yesterday than the F1 I'm afraid. Past caring about anything right now.

I was a fan of his dad and really want to like ROS but I can't think of a single race where he has really had to work for it and win without hitting someone.

If Spa was going to be the race HAM looked back on and said that's where I won the championship he could look back at Monza and say that's where I lost it.....

Roll on the next race
