The other thing about Suarez is he said he showed the English after all the criticism he received. However, nobody said he was a bad player. They said he racially abused someone and bite someone else, both of these things stand no matter how many goals you score against the national team.

St Mary’s will become the first stadium in Europe with LED floodlighting, 64 years after the club’s old ground, The Dell, made history as the first in England to have permanent floodlights installed.

and now they want Arteta to replace him...

I'd be happy to see him go, he should have been sold a season ago tbh.

Arteta has been past it for about a year and a half and yes he won't be any loss for you.

Yep, no wonder so many clubs buy foreign players, you could get someone just as good if not better for half the price but because hes English the price is bumped up.

Not sure he is allowed to transfer, the ban covers all administrative sides of the game, even if he can move who would want to sign him when they can't even do a proper press conference announcing the deal. Feel a bit bad for Liverpool, they have played no part in this incident and are being punished for it, they've even got to pay his wages!

No "Migration" Den.

Every footballer is for sale at every club....if a crazy high offer comes in . ;)

Shaw will go on our terms.

Same goes for anyone else.

Loving the envious looks from the charity thieves at the other end of the M27. :D:D

Don't forget that old saying Julian in "what goes around comes around" and several years from now you might be in that same boat whilst your old rivals are laughing down on your team again.:D:D

Saints statement:
Quote:

Southampton Football Club can confirm that Luke Shaw has today completed his move to Manchester United.

The Saints Academy graduate moves to Old Trafford for an undisclosed fee. The fee will amount to the highest-ever transfer fee received by the club, making the 18 year-old the most expensive teenager ever.

Executive Director Les Reed commented: “While we are sad to see Luke depart the club, we fought to ensure that we got the right deal for a player in whom we have invested a great deal of work over the past decade.

“Luke joined us at the age of eight, and our academy staff and coaches have helped him to progress into a top-class player. He will leave our club and carry forward our top-class pedigree, as others have done before.

“This deal is a good one for Southampton Football Club, and hopefully sends a clear message to other clubs wishing to bid for our players.

“Luke’s transfer fee will be reinvested into the team as our new manager, Ronald Koeman, builds for the new season and for years to come.”

CEO Gareth Rogers commented: “Luke's world-record transfer to Manchester United is yet another endorsement of the great work undertaken at our academy and by the staff at Southampton Football Club.

And Southampton's academy is certainly something to be proud of as it has produced some real gems over the years and long may it continue.

Has produced some real gems for other clubs to enjoy, the new financial rules mean the top six or seven clubs will remain pretty much unchallenged for the foreseeable future, makes me wonder why the rest bother
