It makes Manchester look quite exotic. :)
With the empty terraces you can almost feel the city holding it's breath before the night time revelers hit the bars and cafés. |

Re: Photo of the day
The quality of some of the pictures on here has been simply fantastic.
What you are sharing is a window in time of your life. We get the pleasure of gazing on the very image your eye was fixated on for just a brief period. Sorry to come across all deep and all, I just love when people connect and share their moments. ---------- Post added at 00:24 ---------- Previous post was at 00:16 ---------- I snapped this 2 nights ago during an incredibly heavy rain storm. A drain cover had been blown clean off due to the ferocity of the of the water flowing through the drainage system. The picture doesn't fully capture the drama of the moment. The noise and the power of the water blasting up through the hole in the road was impressive. http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/3158/5gn0.jpg |

Went for a ride on my bike this morning and decided to follow the Manchester ship canal to the viaduct that carries the M6 over the canal. I found someone had gone out of there way to paint this on one of the bridge supports. See the photos attached.

Yeah the worrying thing was that there were no doors to get out if someone came towards you. Only doors inwards from the car tunnel on the other side.
Believe me it was a long tunnel and I walked pretty quickly after taking that photo. |

One I took today. The chopper looked like it was coming straight at me while wobbling side to side and was only about 40 foot above me when it went over and landed about 120 foot away. Thought it was in trouble at first. Turns out they were responding to an incident. Made the walk in the park more interesting.

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/at...0&d=1404391080 There are a series of four pools that drain from the top down through each one. I think they are the result of clay working. Lots of ducks and quite big fish in them. Very peaceful today. Attachment 25570 |
