If only there were more free hours in the day to play it.

The reviews weren't kidding when they said it was a real grind to make any coin!

I'm half way to a Cobra Mk3 from doing some trading and bulletin board missions. Not sure whether I could be bothered buying a hauler to maximise trading or just carry on doing the missions.

Must be hurting Christ Roberts this game, which took less time to develop with less money, and Star Citizen is still not even close to being ready but continues to pull in cash it reached $70m funded the other day.

Some people are so invested in that game, they can't bear to see it die so they pay over the top prices for a digital ship etc to keep it going. I almost feel sorry for them.

So whos still playing this? and where are you in the galaxy? I'm currently ranking up with the empire around achenar so I can get the clipper. Hit a bit of a setback when I crashed my asp into a pirate clipper during a fight and so I'm now back to a cobra (at least its not a sidewinder). Best game I have played in ages.

Gutted for you. I have to admit I don't check in here as often as I used to and I only know a bit about what you have been through and even that is through using forum search. Hope you are all sorted soon though.

Very jealous. Think it will be a while until I get mine. I've had the game for three weeks and I'm only worth 7.5m and I've played a lot. Thinking of doing some rare trading but want my asp back before I do.

Rare's are the way to make money. I have attached a route planner for you that i have been using. Keep an eye out for CMDR Optiplex :)

Thanks for that. Do you think a cobra with 44t cargo (40t if i fit a fuel scoop) and 17ly laden range is worth starting on the rares now to get something bigger like an asp down the line or do you think im better waiting until I have the bigger ship first? I can actually afford the asp now but I find flying a deluxe all singing all dancing cobra more satisfying than flying a stock asp. So I'm looking to make it to 10m credits before i rebuy the asp. I'm up to 8m now after a reasonably productive morning.
I'm guessing the sheer number of pirates on those routes make a type 6 a really bad idea?
I'll keep an eye out, CMDR zrbyte here :D

44 tons will do the trick to start off, by the way I tend to fly in a private group which keeps the Pirates off my back. There is a group called möbius that has players who prefer trading and exploring.

I tend to play it very casually in a sort of "I feel like shooting things" or "I feel like trading for a bit", but I can never find good missions of the category I want.

Is there some trick to knowing where to look or do I just have to fly around endlessly?

Okay I have just started my rare run and I will have to leave it for a couple hours now at lave (Why can't primary school kids bring themselves home? :D )
Got a couple more questions if you dont mind?
1. Fuel scoop or not?
2. Are the values on the rare circuit you gave me right? I notice it's dated December and I seem to remember reading they nerfed the numbers you can get from each station. I'm finding it hard to get more than one rare from lave and if I read it right I should be trying to get 7?

You need a fuel scoop, the amounts are correct but you need to wait for them to refresh sometimes

Thanks for that. Started at lave and made 800k with a full cobra when i got to witchhaul. Sold my shield on my cobra now and brought my cargo capaciity upto 56t to try and get more on the way back.

It sure does, thanks again. 1.8m Is my best in one haul so far in my shiny new asp. Only thing I'm trying to decide now are the advantages of speed vs quantity. Do I fill up with whatever amount is at the station and move on, or do I wait (Sometimes taking upto half an hour) for the station to replenish stock enough to max out what I can get of that specific rare. The difference is about 1.5 hours longer if I wait for max stock and about twice the profit.

I've been waiting for the Mac version for what seems like ages.

I was tempted at one point to use Bootcamp/Parallels to run the PC version of the game on my iMac, but decided that would be too excessive as I'd need to buy bloody Windows, too.

I would *much* rather play this on a console than a computer, so the news that it's coming to Xbox One is awesome for me :) I'm also not sure my iMac could handle it, anyway!

Bought the game round about new year, got all the way upto a Cobra but decided to downgrade to a viper as I'm still trading my way round the galaxy..

Before I got my x52 joystick I was using an xbox(360) controller and it was very good. Apparently that's what most of the Dev's use.

Nothing to do with the game. It's an "elite controller for elite gamers" or something. Expensive, but very customisable.

It was mentioned when it was announced that they were going to look into it sharing the same universe as PC/Mac, but I've not seen anything confirmed yet.

You still get the full game. The only difference is that you're also now beta testing it so if it glitches out you can't complain.

Well its not gone down to well with the PC users on the Frontier forums, not only have the Xbox one users only paid half price for the full game but they also get the next update well before PC. I will admit i am not to happy that FD has signed up for good old Microsoft $. Now they have allowed Micro$oft access they will never have control of content in the game going forward. Bet you they role it out on Ps4 next and give them an all new update with the promise of extra content for PC by the end of the year like they have just done with the Xbox role out. Best bit is they have not even fixed all the bugs in the latest power play update. Some are saying it was rolled out early complete with bugs to try and fend off a major backlash from the PC users. FD made this announcement about the Xbox one exclusive content and they now have the backlash they expected and deserve in my mind.

I just got close and shot it that way. Also make sure you're targeting with Y.

assuming the same as the pc, indeed target first then attack.

But not TOO close as the guns converge if you get too close you'll shoot past them.

So I have just gone through the training in ED on the Xbox One, the problem now is I keep getting 'Load Failed' every time I try to start my first ever game in Solo or Open Play mode, has anyone seen this on the X1 version?

Really enjoying it at the moment, it will be even better when they get out of beta but the odd crash and glitch is well worth it the moment.

Thinking of going exploring but need to build up some cash reserves to get the proper ship, so bounty hunting at the moment. Made the mistake of target a wing of 3 wanted ships last night.

Got away with 1% hull integrity left :erm:, won't be doing that again.

Wish we could get a definite answer if accounts will be reset when it comes out of beta

I really don't like the power play thing - not impressed at the moment.

Still, I'm sticking with it until they finally release planetary landings.

As for exploration, I have an asp for that and a good (advanced) discovery scanner.

I'm off to the galactic core as it happens.

That's what's stopping me from going off exploring, don't mind (too much) credits etc from bounty hunting.

Guess I'll bank all the credits in case we get to keep them, don't think we will as the xbox started with 100,000.

Tried to play it on the Xbox One and thanks to no HOTAS support, I have given up on it until they implement if they ever do since, it's Frontier that have to implement it instead of the BS that they came out with saying it needs to be the HOTAS makers, who implement support.

On the pc I have not played it in ages, and currently I am sat downloading the latest update which is around 75% complete and has taken nearly 2 hours to get to that stage.

If Damien is anything like me then i understand what he means. I have never had a games console because i cannot get my head around the ruddy game controllers. I much prefer keyboard, mouse, joystick and i have a head tracker which makes combat so much more interesting :).

Elite Dangerous on Xbox One will exit Preview and get released on October 6th.

Players ships and modules won't be carried over though but the cash value of those items will.

I'd go solo play. You still get AI but the universe is so big that it's not like you're constantly seeing them.

Yeah, stick with Solo - at least until you're comfortable with it and can defend yourself.
