If Rooney gets injured, does that mean the Euro's are over for England. Of course not, its a chance for young blood to come in.

We cannot rely on the 'old guard' to play for this country, we have to have young blood and this is there chance.

Erm because it is.

I'm of the opinion England would have won Euro 2004 if Rooney hadn't got injured.

Question, if the home fans in Euro 2012 make abusive remarks to non-white players will their team & fans face a ban in competion like England faced?

Are you suggesting abusive remarks to non-white players are on a par with the events that led to the England ban?

Even if Diarra has avoided a serious injury, it would be very surprising if he did not suffer a badly sprained ankle, at the very least. That wouldn't stop him from starting preseason on time for Rennes or securing a big-money transfer, but it would be a serious enough injury that Laurent Blanc would need to consider calling up a replacement for Euro 2012

yup looks bad but good for Arsenal. no inflating the fee although thanks to Veiera City want him! Inter pulled out by signing someone else. weird thing is Inter was quoted to have pulled out because they were told hes opted for Arsenal.

l think thats highly unlikely to happen as clubs tend to drag out transfers nowadays and make them protracted and prolonged and then we have the usual rush just before the transfer window as clubs then pay over the odds for a lot of these players.

thenry 01-06-2012 13:29

Re: Euro 2012

hopefully not den. Rennes have conceded he will leave. the player himself will want it sorted as soon as France are finished at the Euros and even more so if he has indeed opted for Arsenal, pre season and all. i dont really understand this. Inter sources have been quoted to have said M'Vila will move to Arsenal which is why they signed some other guy so that means what.. hes rejected contract talks with Inter? theres an agreement with Arsenal already and Rennes are holding out for inflation in his fee via Euros or everythings agreed but its been agreed that it will be annouced after the Euros? soo many questions, so little answers!!

QPR manager Mark Hughes says Hodgson should have attempted to persuade Paul Scholes, 37, out of international retirement ahead of Euro 2012. "I know Paul drew a line under his international career, but it would have been a call worth making," said Hughes

Is he serious? Is it the best England can do, to get Pail Scholes? I would view that as a very negative and backward step

I am a huge fan of Scholes and IMO in his prime he was the best English player of his generation.

But whats the deal with him right now? He plays OK but he only plays in a UTD side with mediocre creativity from the centre. If they bought someone even half decent they wouldn't need him.

If England played him we might as well all give up now.

I want to see Walcott on the wing, Welbeck and Carroll both up front against France, give their defence something to cry about.

This is Carroll's chance to show why he left Newcastle for no less than £35 Million.

Unfortunately one of them will be dropped and replaced by Rooney after 2 games. Can't say it's a poor decision because Rooney is key.

Watching Russia play I can't help but think why would Wenger be stupid enough to play Arshavin out of position. He quite obviously isn't a wide forward.

But that was never the problem Lex as Arshavin's attitude left a lot to be desired and to put it bluntly he was a one season wonder in my opinion.:)

IMHO I have to disagree. Arshavin is the central attacker that plays the free role. He never did that with Arsenal because Fabregas was playing there.

The season you say he did well, Arsenal played differently then and also that season Arsenal had a terrible injury crisis in midfield which meant Arshavin was playing wide forward but could do as he pleased in terms of drifting in to the middle.

Arshavin was treated terribly by Arsenal fans. I was at the game when he was booed just for being a sub coming on. Deep down, even as a gooner, I actually hope he does well for himself and refuses a return to AFC because he was treated poorly by Wenger and the fans.

Nope. Top man that. I think I voted for him. Wim is a very good name for a politician by the way.

The Russia player is actually called Zhirkov, but that didn't stop the presenters from calling him Jerkoff. I'm sure we will hear lots more about him.

Shows you how much I know. :)

29 appearances in 2 seasons. Not exactly starting 11 then.

Sadly some England players have been racially abused during training.

Roy Hodgson has told John Terry to stop it. ;)

Apparently the England team visited an orphanage today. "It's so heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope" said Igor, aged 6.
