From the Guardian article:
"The BBC will offer full reruns of the Formula One races that it does not show live next year. They will be shown on demand, through the red button, approximately three hours after the end of the race at the same time as the highlights package goes to air on the main channel, according to reports."

I don't know if the BBC Red Button service is HD (suspect not), and I also understand that BBC Red Button isn't available on TiVo (I read that it takes you to iPlayer?). So - is that any real benefit for Virgin customers? Possibly no HD for 10 races, and unable to view or record it if using TiVo?

For information, I only have Virgin BB and currently have Freeview (no HD TV) but considering adding TiVo and phone to get F1 in HD next season, was considering Sky Sports package to get remaining 10 races, but have to see what BBC provide.

We are working with our content partners to extend this with new Red Buttons services before the end of this year. We hope to have a full range of Red Button services early next year.

Sky have officially answered this....

THE F1 channel launches on SKY next year.

Hole New Channel... just for F1...
This is how SKY gets around Schedule conflicts. To much other sport on that can't be taken off air, bung up another channel.

4 months of adverts from sky to sit through now.

I can get $ky sports, but I just cannot face it on $ky, even though there will be no adverts during the race they will be a plague before and after.

I expect Red Bull to will again, so I'll just watch the British GP this year and give the others a miss.

I will not be avalible in HD for Virgin Media customers (apart from some Live Races on the BBC), because we are not getting Sky Sports F1 HD, only Sky Sports F1 SD!

Testing is incorrect as for starts they wont be in Jerez at that point just Barcelona but also Winter tests are not broadcasted as BE doesnt see the point in showing winter tests so that bit of info is incorrect.

Also it is better to have Sky F1 in SD than not at all so im ok with it

Really who is interested F1 is boring....try some touring cars ,bikes and any other racing to see what real racing is all about :p:

Why watch cars that don't overtake or bump for excitement :erm:

Just my opinion :-)
