Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

The reply from June that I received this afternoon just says the Sky HD package.
It also says that I will be receiving a call on or before the 2nd August when the channels go live to confirm the details.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Well IF they were to offer something like Sky HD Sport I would feel Im actually loosing something by not having the movies :D (even if its free), I know its an illusion but thats how I would feel ... funny how the mind works :dunce:

I have no intention of leaving VM for Sky ... I like VM and I like the overall packages VM offer as well as the reliability (weather issues with satellites and poor broadband over telephone wires) so thats not an issue.

But I do wish to keep my options open regarding VIP as I currently vary rarely even use the telephone let alone for International calls and of course you never know what is around the corner that may require cutting some monthly expenses. That is why I would like to see the top tier broadband as part of the VIP pack as standard instead of it being left behind in the slower lane even if I dont actually need 50MB speeds its nice to know its there as standard

I feel that offering Sky Sports HD for free for 6 months and not including movies HD is a mistake .. and if that locks in a new 12 month contract to something that we dont know the contents of or the price then that is an even bigger mistake ... just IMHO and perhaps because Im a glass half empty expect the worst kind of person :p: but I aint signing nuttin till they show me the small print

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

A sequence of VIP deals. Keep the existing VIP package and then come up with a ultra VIP deal for those willing or are paying more. Pricing? Erm how about a gross saving of at least 10% on the individual prices?

XL TV (worth £23.50)
Sky Movies & Sports with HD on your main box included. (worth £34.50)
XXL Broadband (£37)
Picture Box (£5)
XL Phone (£11.99 plus £7.95 for talk unlimited)
Additional standard set top box (£5.50)
V+HD main (£0)
Caller ID (£2.00)
Talk International (£1.50)
Talk Mobile (£1.50)

Gross total: £130.44 RRP for Ultimate VIP £109

extra boxes £5.50 each (I have two taking me to four in total)
Sky HD premium £7 per box ( free on my 1st box, £7 each on my other 2 hd boxes)

Would make my bill £134 per month.

It's less than I'm paying now and would be less than I'd be paying Vm's competition for similar services. I have a huge amount of services and I am willing to pay for them but see no reason to not want a bit better value. At £109 per month there's still good profit for Vm and leaves a barrier of affordability for people to call up retentions. :D

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

I emailed Diane an hour or so ago about the Sport Only/Movies debate and this was the reply:

"Hi Kevin

I am happy to inform you that the £7.00 credit would cover the Sports and Movies.

Thanks Diane"

With regards what I would like included in the new VIP pack, I'd like included Premium HD channels for all HD boxes in the household for starters. Anything else would be a bonus to be honest. I think 50Mb broadband should be included as it's the flagship product, but I think the need for a modem upgrade might make this difficult. If they do add it, I can see it being optional with an install fee.

Do you reduce the price of the present VIP pack create a new pack for 2011 including TIVO.

Just a thought, anyway big thanks to Big Red for all the info and nice to see Virgin doing some thing positve.

Same here Wibsey. I was on VIP plus 3 mobiles on Virgin so it was getting a bit daft paying out £150+ a month to Virgin. However...... if they threw in the 50Mb BB into the VIP pack I would consider moving back up ;)

I don't have any need for a second HD box etc as the Sammy is connected to a 32" CRT. I do agree with others though that the Landline inclusions are frankly a waste of money for me e.g. Talk International etc.

I think there should only be 1 VIP package not 2 or 3 as has been suggested. There was and is only 1 so why make it more complicated.Just get the current VIP package correct add sky HD for no price increase that covers all V+ boxes.Anything more and personally i think they would start to increase the price which is the last thing i want.

In fact there was two VIP packs some time ago - the top VIP pack included Virgin Mobile.

I think those that are wanting all the new services for the old price are highly unrealistic.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what any new VIP deals have to offer and in fact my suggestion for an Ultimate VIP deal would (hopeflly) soon be superceded by an even better one when the Tivo box launches.

Not to mention the anticipated jump in xxl bb from 50mb to 100mb.

I posted in the other thread today and i recived a email from the lovley diane,my faith in virgin has grown again i left sky hd to return to virgin i had phone and broadband with them any way.
My only gripe was that i did not mind paying the extra for the prem hd it was just that they wanted £7 per box.
Diane infomed me they would pay for 1 of the boxes me the other and they was looking to improve the vip packages.
I have been with cable for over 10 years and may i say virgin has been the best they relly listen to there customers unlike sky.;)

Not highly unrealistic when you remember that there's been £17 in price reductions that VIP hasn't seen.

All people want is the value that used to be there that has now been eroded away.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

I'd be happy to drop TV choice and music on demand personally in return for the SKY HD package. In fact I don't really need Talk Mobile or Talk International either.

Adding 50mb broadband to any new VIP package wouldn't come cheap to Virgin, right? They'd need to provide new modems to everyone making the jump up from 20mb. If you want 50mb in the new VIP package, surely you'll need to pay the initial install. I'd be happier if they removed the upload / download restrictions from the 20mb broadband. Download as much as you want, whenever you want without 5 hours of speed limitation. Also a boost in upload speeds would be appreciated.

Does anyone know if Picture Box is actually popular with the customers, and what kind of profit Virgin make from it, if any? Personally I'd never really watch any of the movies on offer. I'm actually finding the movies we get for free on ITV HD, Five HD, 4 HD, E4 HD, Film 4 HD, SYFY HD, FX HD and BBC HD are much better than those offered by Picture Box. Over a 7 day period you can easily fill your V+box with fairly recent movies.

Sorry if I've went a bit off topic

My initial reaction was to say why?

Then I remembered what the VIP was initially all about - best of the best to customers willing to sign up at a very reasonably discounted price. At the time the V+ box was the Bees Knees and was included as well as being able to keep and relocate your original STB.

So maybe you are not being unrealistic at all.

I would just like to thank the virgin media support team. I emailed them yesterday at about 10.30 PM they phoned me at 9.30 am the next day and told me hat is going on.
If nobody knows what can happen, this is what you can get Virgin will add the HD channels costing £7 however they will also add e £7 pound reduction to balance it out, effectively getting HD free. This locks you into a new 12 month contract but it puts you onto the new VIP package. The new VIP package is being looked at and reworked and will be released by the end of the year. The lady on the phone on going to email me i will post on the forums what she says

---------- Post added at 09:47 ---------- Previous post was at 09:35 ----------

Here is the email:

Thanks for your recent e-mail to our CEO Neil Berkett, Neil has passed this to me to liaise with you and ensure full resolution of your issues.
We are in the process of reviewing our VIP package offering and how the new exciting HD content will be incorporated in the pack. As advised in our conversation we are offering VIP customer a credit of £7.00 for 6 months to cover the HD channels. This offer is a fix until the new VIP package is re written, however if you accept this offer we will require you to agree to a new 12 months contract. Please advise if you wish to accept this offer.

Whilst I would be happy to take the 6 months free HD, my only worry is if we agree to the 12 months new contract....what if after the 6 months they announce they will throw in the SKY HD and 50MB BB etc but the price of the VIP goes up?

If the price goes up you'll have the choice to stay where you are or upgrade to the new VIP deal.

My suspicion is current VIP deal will be improved... and maybe a price cut but certainly no price increase.... they'll then launch a deal that will include Tivo and 50mb but at a higher subscription.

Well you could say you signed a 12 month contract 6 months ago. I believe Virgin will still have to give you what was agreed in that contract.

I believe Virgin will bring out a new VIP+ as its the easiest way as they would have to upgrade all vip modems or write to all VIP customers saying to continue to receive the VIP you need to pay £35 or what ever for the new modem which would **** alot of customers off.

I agree is there any specs for the Tivo box yet? All I want is a box with 1TB hard drive in to be honest.

By accepting the 6 months free service for SKY SPORTS HD you will be entering a new agreement and therfore commiting youself to the VIP for a further 12 months.

I'm posting this thread to correct what I said previously. I have just had an email to confirm that the free service for 6 months covers Sky Sports & Sky Movies HD. Apologies for any confusion.

Well I for one am pleased the confusion is cleared up over what exactly will be on offer ...

Personally I would be happy just to get the VIP package revamped and get the "Impressive" back into it but of course I wont refuse the Sky Premium Channels but with a £7 discount which in reality means the channels will be free for 6 months.

I dont have a problem agreeing to that deal and a new 12 month lock in contract which in effect is 6 months on whatever the new VIP turns out to be as I dont think it will disappoint us but it may come at a slight increase in price or at least some installation fees for upgraded equipment. My only objection is that installation fees need to be paid in advance by credit/debit card over the phone instead of automatically added into your bill which would be more secure and convenient. I say this as a victim of identity theft who isn't willing to give cards details over the phone to someone on a different continent who has a poor grasp of the English language in some cases.

Anyway I still give FULL credit to VM for listening to customers and taking action in a positive and rapid way. Lets just hope the revamp truly does give us back our "Impressive" package.

So the only way to get this discount applied is to send an email and wait for someone to phone you back?

That really sucks for all the people on VIP who don't visit Cable-based forums. Why can't they just apply this to everyone on VIP?

I would expect they will email all VIP customers the offer ... remember they cant just do it for everyone without agreement as it requires a new 12 month contract and would cause chaos if customers didnt know they were getting locked in again.

Its still early days and they are still working on the details as far as i was informed, but it will be sorted next week and before the Sky HD goes live, it does take a bit of behind the scenes work to introduce discount codes for the masses I believe.

well if they ask me for the £35 for new modem i can tell them where to go as i have the 50mb already but im also on VIP.. the only difference is £7 from my original VIP bill

but if they make a VIP+ where u have all the new HD channels and the 50mb then i might stick with 50mb as i have had more problems with it then i ever did with dial up. ;)

i think also those on VIP should get a discount as pay £7 per box for HD sky sports and movies is abit to much when u have 3 boxes maybe £7 for 1 then £10 for 2 and £12 for 3 etc.

My VIP package is costing me £89.86 per month, a quick visit to the Sky website shows that I can create the equiv of the VIP for £87 with only £10 advance payment. So I guess VM have to do a serious package upgrade. I know that Sky cannot complete on the BB front, but I suspect that doing TV with Sky and BB with VM would not cost must more than what I am paying now + the £7. I will wait for VM to come forward with their enhanced VIP+ package and will then be able to make an informed decision. But lets hope they do not fool everybody in to taking on a new 12 month contact before announcing what they have in mind.

It would be great if Virgin Media could offer a VIP package menu from which customers could pick components. Like one other user, I don't use the international and mobile phone elements of the VIP package so that's a waste for me.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with when the new VIP packages are announced.

£93.50 is what I came up with. So £3.36 cheaper than £89.96 +£7. Plus you get all the Sky HD channels. Only different is BB lite vs BB unlimited. Depends what you want out of your BB.

Agree with the above - does this also include the £3 extra charge from 1st Sept. (£1 for TV Pack and £2 for Sky Sports)

Either way £101 or £104 for Sky top package v VM top package we still save £92.50 for VIP + £7 for HD Prem Channels £99.50.

Wow 2GB!!! Where do I sign up LOL;)

I'm a VIP customer and agree with most of what is said on here. Personally, I'm gonna wait a bit and see what the new VIP is going to be before making my mind up-however I think
1. Credit to VM for listening to its customers.
2. Definite need to upgrade to 50mb for VIP customers.
3. Talk mobile and International seem a complete waste of time (for the majority)
4. Caller ID please (was promised this was available when I took phone package-someone telling me porkies VM as never been available to me in my area!!)
5. No VIP++++ or VIP XXXXXXXXXXXL etc just simple VIP which is exactly that--Impressive!

I got a Sky door to door salesman round and they quoted £50 a month for "what you have now" which is the VIP package plus additional V Box for just over £100.

Is it worth threatening to leave now (not that I do) or will I now just get a generic "were updating your package soon" response?

I'd be VERY dubious about if they can actually offer a VIP equivalent for £50 a month.

Even with the half price Sky World for 12months with free HD offer (which I think they've stopped doing now?) the cost of doing a near like for like VIP on Sky comes in at £66 (without the additional box which is £10 on Sky compared to £5.50 on VM).

You're not going to get VM matching anything near that price, so if you do go for it make sure you get everything in writing, including a full break down of the monthly costs, because really, that offers FAR too good to be true.

There's no way you'd get the VIP pack for that price from Sky or VM, sounds like the rep is telling a few porkies! Customer relations have all the latest info on competitors too

Concerning this £7 discount do you need to have emailed Neil about this or can we just ring CS from 2nd August? If I need to email then I'll email just asking the question though lol.

We have two HD boxes and I can well understand that we'd only get the extra channels for one box but are we able to select which one or is it limited to the initial HD box (the primary one)?

Obviously if I need to email them to be sure I'll get the discount then I can ask them that last question directly. And what information do I need to provide when sending the email? i.e. account number, phone number etc?

I have no need for the HD sports and movie channels, not because I don't have an HD tv (which I do have) but because I don't watch the channels enough (only watch cricket and wrestling on sky sports and the odd movie now and then). Does anyone know if I can I still get the discount? If not then it could be a bit unfair as you could say that the people who are taking the HD sports and movies are paying for it but being given a £7 discount on the cost of VIP. Why not just give everyone on VIP the £7 discount automatically?

The discount is to offset the cost of the HD channels for 6 months, and to tie you in for another 12months, if you don't take the HD channels thenn there's nothing to offset is there?

If you're nowhere near ending your contract you will hold no sway over whether they give you a discount or not.

I never said you weren't, just that everyone else reported "12 months.." I was told 1st quarter next year for a new VIP deal which, when I think about it, is when the £7 discount would run out.

So seing as VIP isn't as good value as it used to be why not just give everyone a £7 discount for 6 months while they hash out the new vip offer nd then if anyone wants the HD channels they can get them.

Because revenue is all important to any business.

They won't drop the price of VIP but simply add value to it ie. the improved VIP will most likely give you more for the same money you're paying now.

As for giving everyone discount? See my first line again. Giving unhappy customers discount is good for business. Giving every single happy customer an unnecessary discount is bad for the bottom line.

I emailed the CEO and had a reply from Diane saying they were looking at the VIP package. I emailed back and said I was aware of people being offered a £7 discount and would this be offered to other VIP customers such as myself. The email I got back simply said this was all still to be confirmed and they would let me know when decisions on discounts had been made.

Well it's good that virgin are listening to customers and responding straight away. It's a sign of a v good company.

But...

It now means everyone has had a price decrease on sky sports or some sort of free offer except those on xl tv!!!!!

I'm pleased for my friends on VIP but it just means the ustomers on xl are the worst off when it comes to sky sports hd. People on m and l packages only need to pay a pound or 2 more to get the hd channels as they had a sky sports package decrease. VIP get 6 months hd free...

Xl package people get nothing...

XL customers get nothing? What about nearly twenty new HD channels for bupkiss in the last few months?
Without a shadow of a doubt XL-TV is easily the best value TV package VM do, M, M+ and L all have to pay £7pm for TV Choice, XL-TV gets it free, M, M+ and L pay 20p a song its free on XL and lastly XL gets four free ESPN channels.
I'm happy enough to have a pop at VM when they get it wrong, but in the case of the TV-XL package they certainly have not.
I mean what more do you think VM should add to XL for free?

VIP Update.

We should hear something within the next 2-3 months around improved package/s.

VM have taken both price reduction and package improvement into account but Mr Berkett has already issued his recommendations for VIP.

Expect something coming out within the next couple of months - but keep emailing and keep the pressure on, they may do something quicker.

Not sure what your point is???? You need the charge added, then discounted off, so it's not a decrease in the VIP charge.

I agree that the "basic" XL package is great value, but M/M+/L subscribers have had a substantial price cut for Sky's SD premium channels in the last couple of months, and now VIP customers are getting a £7/month discount for Sky's HD channels. Meanwhile XL TV subscribers have got zip. Even a token gesture of a £2/month drop in the Sky SD subscription post the OFCOM decision would've "softened the blow".

XL TV is a great package, but it isn't just VIP customers who have been hard done by over the past couple of months when compared to other VM customers.

Sky has'nt reduced it's prices though... the money has to go in to a escrow account while sky appeals. If Sky win then VM will have to pay it back.

XL customers were already getting Sky premiums at near cost to VM, they lowered it on the other tiers to be more competitive.

XL customers have not been hard done by, not by a mile! XL pack remains very good value indeed.

You've had :

All the basic HD channels - no extra charge

ESPN (inc HD ) - no extra charge

TV Choice on demand - no extra charge

Music On Demand - no extra charge

All this with more inclusive HD channels coming, including Sky1.

You've never had it so good :)

I've always thought XL has been great value with a V+ box. All the On demand stuff and the PVR have always been what I've paid for so anything additional, like HD, is a bonus.

Next Saturday I'll be getting a second V+ box installed with all that the wonderful service XL brings for only an extra £5.50 per month. How good is that.:D

I agree, the XL package is pretty good value. The VIP, which I was on a year or so ago, does seem to have lost a bit of it's value. If they come up with a good package with the forthcoming VIP (TIVO box included?) then I may go back. One thing that does need sorting on the VIP is the additional V+ box. On triple XL, which I'm on, the second V+ box is £5.50/month; isn't it an extra £10 if you're on VIP?

my point is, and I think most of us agree, that the vip package isn't the good value it used to be (including VM or they wouldn't be looking at redesigning the package) so why not give all vip customers a discount while they sort out the package?

If I watched more sky sports and movies i'd be willing to pay the £7 but I can't justify the extra cost at the moment.

Also my main question (which seems to have been missed) is can I still get the discount without taking the HD channels?

What extra cost?

Surely if you're on VIP then it doesn't matter how little you watch them, you can still take the HD channels now and it won't cost you anything until the package is revamped (unless you're scared of a new 12month contract).

So are you saying that I can go online to the webpage mentioned earier and apply to have the HD channels added and they will automatically discount my account for the cost?

I'm not scared of a new 12 month contract, its the fact that they are only going to give you the discount for 6 months, so you could end up paying more for the package in the second 6 months after they review the vip package and there is no gaurentee that they will improve the vip package as it is now or reduce its cost, they have only said that they are reviewing it.

Email the CEO's office first to make sure.

I don't think there is much chance that you'd end up paying more, the fact that they're giving the discount means they know they need to add value to the package. Unless it's all just some con to get people to sign up for another 12 months before jacking up the prices 6 months into the contract ;)

Just a little VIP side issue maybe someone can enlighten me on, I've just read a thread on the billing section called "Is this right for VIP", it seems people are ringing in and complaining that they are being charged £92.49pm when the price being advertized on VM's website is £89.50.
Apparently this is a mistake that occured in April 10 and the poster claims to have had his VIP bill reduced to £89.50 and reimbursed the £2.99pm charge from April.
Has anybody on VIP heard this, and is everybody else paying a basic £92.49pm?

Thread in question is under "Billing Issues", "Is this right for VIP", the poster is whitfip, the below post is on page five post *48

I then phoned customer services back and asked for Retentions and asked for their help as I had nobody else to turn too. They immediatley understood my problem and told me a £2.99 price increase had been applied in error in April 2010. He reversed the price increase and credited my overpayments. Hope this helps and as I've joined this thread late on I hope I've not repeated an answer already submitted.

I asked Diane from the CEO office about this when she called me last week. She told me £92.49 was the correct price, and she was unaware that it was £89.50 on the website. I emailed her a link and she said she was going to look into it for me. I'll post here when I get an answer from her.

Only seems a rip off because VM are giving you all the other HD channels included in the XL/VIP packs.

It's £10 on Sky for all HD, regardless of whether you take Movies/Sports. And yes I am aware you get the other 2 HD sports channels on Sky.

Seems the more VM give for free, the more people want for free.

£7 is good value if you look at the bigger picture. Premium Sky HD has to be paid for, end of. :)

£7 is a good deal because Sky charge £10 per box and it seems that Virgin have had the Sky prices and charge per box imposed on them by SKy.

But is the way Sky charge for HD fair and reasonable, or are they making unfiar profit on it? I don't know the answer, but it would be nice to see it investigated. The charge per box quite rightly annoys everyone as it's not the norm compared with SD channels.

The trouble is, no one trusts Sky. Maybe an open investigation into how Sky works out it's charges for HD, both non premium and premium would help matters?

Seems the more VM give for free, the more people want for free.

£7 is good value if you look at the bigger picture. Premium Sky HD has to be paid for, end of. :)

How many HD channels does Sky have compared to Virgin?
And what do you mean for free? We are talking Sky Sports here which I still have to pay £20.50 for plus another £7 for only 2 HD channels. The same as M+ customers
I can't even downgrade to a lower TV package as I would lose all of my loyalty bonus I've built up over 10 years.
Cheers Virgin. Bye Virgin.

Apparently this is a mistake that occured in April 10 and the poster claims to have had his VIP bill reduced to £89.50 and reimbursed the £2.99pm charge from April.
Has anybody on VIP heard this, and is everybody else paying a basic £92.49pm?

Thread in question is under "Billing Issues", "Is this right for VIP", the poster is whitfip, the below post is on page five post *48

i contacted them about this a few weeks back, got told that they had had alot of complaints about this and they have applied a £2.99 good will gesture onto my accont every month and backdated it to april. there was no mention of it being a mistake.

I'm Sorry you feel that way, Ryan... but why do you want VM to give you Sky Premium HD channels for free? VM have to pay Sky for them and make some profit.

You are already getting a good deal, plus loyalty bonuses on top of that.

Anyway this is my final say on this matter.

You have the audacity to quote loyalty bonuses when your pony company will take that off me for daring to downgrade my TV package? And this a bonus that I've accumulated after 10 years? I had my loyalty bonus long before VM arrived and long before I switched to XL TV (8 months ago)
Look on any forum or any blog and check out the polls. There lies the truth. The vast majority of Virgin customers who want SS in HD will not pay extra for two measly channels.. VM football fans will lose customers to Sky who offer all 4 Sky Channels in HD at a lesser cost in all (for me anyway).
It's an own goal by VM and I am gutted to leave to the dark side after 10 years as a happy cable customer. But VM are now no better, if not worse, than Sky, so good riddance.

Why do you blame Virgin for something they have no control over?

Sky imposed the per box charge and prevented Virgin from getting Sports 3&4 in HD.

I know its crazy,Trouble is people are a bit bemused by it all.Sky wanted VMTV and vm were in the driving seat maybe to get a better deal than they got.It does unfortunitly look like VM`s main goal was to sell the channels and not withold selling them till they got a better deal.
However as said in previous posts, lets see what happens with the new Improved VIP deal. This gives them a chance to put this right,Trouble is they need to do it sooner than later.I do know of many people who have contacted/rejoined sky already and im afraid they will be many more,Come on people lets back VM at least at the min

Haven't Virgin complained to OFCOM about the lack of sports 3&4 in HD? If not, they should do.

Personally, I think Sky should be forced to be split into two independant companies; a service provider and a content provider. A lot of these problems would dissapear as 'Sky Content' would be equally keen to sell to both Virgin and 'Sky the service provider'.

sadly they no chance of that happening as murdoch is in bed with the torries and no chance in hell he would ever let that happen but i agree would be better for the customers if it did but no way that ever happen more chance of snow in hell before that sadly

It is a good idea,But agree with the above comment would never happen. The bigger concern is that murdoch is after full control of SKY now, thats the last thing we need things will get far worse:(

Yes i know what you mean and also do not forget that the OFT are looking in to the sale of the VMTV channels to SKY, so we do not know what is going to happen in regards to this. Also OFCOM said that they would look in to SS3/4 and also refer the movies to the competition commision. So there is alot up in the air at the moment?

VM better have a deal on the TiVo boxes and/or multiroom offers because the VIP package is very poor at the moment and 50mb broadband does not correct VM's overcharging of XL/VIP customers for at least the last 6 to 12 months over Sky channels and the like.

Its worth a email, try your look

Don't know how you managed that but i e-mailed last week and got a no-go for an answer.
I am VIP in all but title as my services have been added over time.
XL TV,V+ and second box,20Mb broadband (which i may add i was tricked into by an overseas CSR who told me 10Mb was being stopped and i would have to upgrade ,when i initially phoned about something totally different),XL phone.
Add Sky sports last summer then a couple of months back when i saw this VIP thing coming I checked what I was paying against VIP and was only £7 difference.
When i phoned to upgrade to VIP thinking that adding sky movies would make me VIP,I was told the only way I could go VIP was to take 50Mb broadband.I have no desire for that at all and would never need faster than i've currently got and anyway that would have taken my services up by £17 not the £7 I planned.
So basically I now have all the services included in the VIP pack but am not VIP??? Add to that call divert and a virginmobile contract.
I'm disappointed and I may look at the new VIP packages (If they'll let me?) when they come out,but I'm not bothered enough about HD to pay extra.
If you've got a quality plasma (not an LCD)and you're not sitting on top of the TV the SD is excellent on skysports unlike channels like eurosport.
OK so sky movies can be a bit ropey on some shots but certainly not worth paying extra for(when you start watching film, you get involved in the plot and the picture quality doesn't cross your mind-unless the films rubbish in which case just change channel).
Maybe I could have cancelled my contract and started a new VIP contract when I added movies, maybe i should have asked on here first? Too late now anyway.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Just spoke to the Indian call centre they advised I would be able to downgrade my package on my phone ( talk unlimited, mobile and international ) this would save me £7.95 per month ( currently on VIP ) They also said I only have to keep the HD channels for 30 days.

If any staff on here tonight, could you tell me if I have been advised correctly?
