Well I made a nice big snowman today! He had all the bits too. I heard the ice cream man yesterday too, I couldnt believe my ears. Stopped snowing now :o(

It's been trying to snow but keeps quickly turning to sleet, then it stops about 10/15 minutes later. Still bitter cold.

Just stepped into my back garden for the first time since the weekend. About 5-6 inches deep! And to think - I would have been at work today had it not been for the blessed shift swap!

Hardly anything when I left the house this morning (just a light coating on the windscreen).

Unfortunately, Scunthorpe appeared to grind to a halt - it took me about 30 minutes to get to the M181 (approx 30 miles), but then 2½ hours to get from there to work (about another 5 miles) :mad: - I wouldn't mind, but there seemed to be more snow in the air while I was just sat there, than there was on the ground in the first place :mad: :mad:

However I have to work tomorrow and snow is predicted.Husband will be going to work by train if that happens.I'm not going on the M27 in snow to deliver him to Havant because sure as bears sh*t in the woods they won't grit the roads properly or in time. :rolleyes:

Well in Glasgow where I am they sky clouded over a few mins ago with really almost black clouds and has been snowing just a couple of mins and there is quite a bit of it already.

Yup - lots of snow here, especially where my parents live. My mate skidded and slewed a few times. Not good. I've had to put the gas heater on in the bedroom. Costs a fortune and the fumes smell a bit but it's passed a gas safety check so no need to worry.

had a nightmare of a morning, stuck in traffic on the way to the vets (cat got poorly paw) took an hour for a 10 min journey, came out of the vets and i had left my lights on so the battery was dead. freezing cold and stuck in a load of snow im not happy. Had to wait for a jump start to get home

Just hope schools closed as lots of them were in Lincs and they are only down the road from N E Lincs.

From the news reports one would have been forgiven for thinking that a huge swathe of the country was to be affected.I suspect that at least 3/4 of the working population got to work this morning because the reality was that only three areas were that deeply affected.

It has not stopped snowing all day here, I did manage to get out and only a few miles away in Middleton it was raining. The temp at the moment is just above freezing so none of todays snow has stuck, I would guess that the Holmfirth Rd will be cleared at the bottom end but by then so will most of the snow.
