Any feedback on VM 4G speeds yet? I am thinking of switching from EE to VM and wondered if VM users are throttled (by EE) at all?

If they throttle 4G like 3G then it's after 3.5GB.

There is no FUP limit on 4G. Currently on Virgin Mobile 4G you'll get up to 25Mbps

Why can't i see the 4g tariffs in 'my virgin media' ,i click the links to view them but all that is shown is the old 3g tariffs with the one i'm on

BenMcr 13-11-2016 09:38

Re: Consumer 4G launching October 2016

All depends on what tariff you have with VM as to whether you can move from 3G to 4G online or whether you have to do it via the call centre.

Re: Consumer 4G launching October 2016

If you've got an inclusive handset deal you're only able upgrade within your minimum term to other tariffs that were available for your handset at the time you took it out. Otherwise you have to be at your upgrade date or pay out early. That rule applied before the launch of 4G, so isn't new.

Freestyle handset and SIM only customers can change at any time to currently available tariffs, which now means 4G.

As far as I know, Virgin only do Freestyle deals with 4G now

Re: Consumer 4G launching October 2016

4G Tariff Sim Only Pay Monthly, I have 300 mins and 300 MB data, texts being free of course for £6 a month, I am seeing under my usage in account settings the occasions when I call Virgin Voicemail, it shows the duration of the call but says YES for it being in the tariff.

I am aware that if no air time is left that Voicemail will be free, am I right that if it says that it is in the tariff that it won't be deducted from my airtime minutes allowance?

I don't have the free Virgin to Virgin calls for some reason, however I see it on the link that you shared. Should it have automatically have given me the free service for the Pay monthly Sim Only 4G Tariff?

I got the double data promotion so thanks very much for the help and info here, much appreciated.

I think you only get free mobile calls between Virgin mobiles if you also subscribe to broadband. Make sure they know you are a VM customer.

I think that is what she verified as they I believe checked the address, she said I'd been verified, however this is down to me as they missed this previously.

I'm not up on all this 3G, 4G. But I've just changed my SIM to 4G so why does it show LTE on my iPhone.

LTE is the fastest version of 4G.

Because apple haven't released a software update for Virginia mobile

I finally get 4g now my bill has rolled over which seems quite ok - it is a shame the speed I get is not the same as EE but as I say it seems fast enough.

Virgin Media bolsters mobile operations
VM is close to appointment of Anthony Vollmer to head up Virgin Mobile. He has been chief executive of Tesco Mobile since 2013.
VM's five-year deal with EE expires in 2018. It is due to start negotiations in the coming months. Three and O2 are expected to be strong contenders for the deal.

Considering a VM (LG) and VF merger still may happen in the not too distant future, I could see VF also being a contender.

Hi. Can someone answer my question please. I've taken a monthly sim double data offer last month. I would now like to up the data. If I try to move to another plan with the double / triple promotion still running will I be entitled to it or do you only get on shot?

Think you only get one shot if you move to another tariff that usually means you lose any offers associated with other tariffs.

On a previous double data promotion they wouldn't let me upgrade. I threatened to cancel. They still refused so I cancelled and moved to plusnet.

Re: Consumer 4G launching October 2016

I originally upgraded to 4G with double data, 4GB for £10 rolling sim for my son, who used up all the data quite quickly.

I upgraded the data to 20MB for £15 when it was on offer, so now I have a plan for 40GB data for £15 a month, a cracking deal.
