Indeed looking at it several times now that is the way l see it as players are very clever now in getting penalties awarded to them.

Re: Season 2018/2019

Young has been less active in the dark arts in recent years. Even earned some of my plaudits for an outstanding performance against Sweden just gone. Just jaded and outmatched against Croatia. Overall had the best tournament of his international career as a utility player. But you can argue De Bruyne just walked right in. Then we'd have to start comparing the Bundesliga though.

I wouldn't worry about Jose. I'd be more worried that we're all so far behind City as of now. I feel like Liverpool are the only legitimate challengers. Yet united probably have the second strongest team in the league. Doesn't help that Paul Pogba is determined to become the Premier Leagues most expensive flop. Is it Mourinho or is this guy just not made for the Premier League. He has space and time at international level and in Italy and he was phenomenal.

Sorry but while you may think Liverpool are challengers it relies on Salah delivering again. They looked mediocre against Palace in last game.
They need a really good striker to really challenge as Firmino is not good enough with goals. He never gets 20 goals a season like you get from top strikers that are at the other top teams. They also need to ditch Lovren and get a decent defender to support Van Dijk.
Also consider this one Rodgers had three seasons and delivered no silverware and got the boot. This is Klopps third season so if as is likely they deliver no silverware will he get the boot?

Newcastle are breaking from the inside out. Jamaal Lascelles (Captain, Newcastles best player and a highly sought after player) has slammed Benitez for his negativity and was subsequently dropped from the team. Jamaal flat out refused to play the negative football we came to see just hours ago.

Two games on the bounce now, Newcastle have produced some of the worst football ever seen at a top flight level. It's abysmal to watch. Can't understand why the club is satisfied with being on the brink of disaster. They can not afford another relegation.

Not a great result in the end but a lot to be pleased with in the first half. They ran Spurs ragged but I had a feeling that the failure to put away any of the many chances would cost them dear. Once Spurs scored then they left gaps due to chasing the game. 23 attempts on goal but only five on target is a poor return. Still very pleased with Luke Shaws performance, he is slowly getting back to his old self.

Watched the Liverpool game on BT Sports Channel 555, 4K UH definition at the weekend, picture quality was excellent.

Can't beat following it all up with an abysmal performance thus far to a mid table championship side.

Newcastle United are falling apart. Not even sure what to say anymore. This team and its depth are shockingly bad. Calling it a Premier league side might just be embarrassing at this point. Dived into the transfer market and spending buttons to replace players with just as mediocre players. Gayle for Rondon makes no sense at all. Whilst selling Mitrovic who's scored more goals than Newcastle in its entirety. As said before, a third relegation would spell absolute catastrophe.

3-1. Conceded two goals to a mid table championship side in added time. There are no words.

Alright so they camp their own half against Chelsea and then play out against City? In the end the result is identical. So causing arguments with the team captain and the subsequent fallout over negative tactics was absolutely pointless and now Benitez has people asking what the deal is.

The reasons for his extensive list of clubs are now seeping through into Newcastle.

Could just be that people with season tickets didn't show. If I remember right, Arsenal Season tickets include these cup games and would explain this. They're not optional. They can be resold as individual games through Arsenal's ticket exchange but I can bet some people just can't be arsed on a Thursday night in London against some duff team. With 40000 season tickets already sold, that's 40000 seats before it's even reached general sale. After away fans, sponsorships and premium stuff, I'm guessing around 12,000 actually make it to public sale. Which wouldn't be hard to just assume they did in fact sell out.

iadom 22-09-2018 10:49

Re: Season 2018/2019

United season tickets only include European Champions League and FA Cup games as compulsory. You can opt out of Europa and League Cup matches. The downside to that is that if they reach the semis and finals you have less ‘credits’ on your account.

So why only 40,000 at the Emptyead Adz?

Usually take the tram to Old Trafford, a no brainer as it is free. As it was a 3:00pm kick off today I decided I would drive down to give the car a chance to clear it lungs with a bit of the old 'Italian tune up' down the motorway. I parked at the huge Lowry Outlet Malls a 15 minute walk from the ground. I did suggest to the missus that if there was another 3:00pm kick off she could come with me, I would go to the match and she could have a couple of hours of retail therapy.

After today I have decided that if I ever drive down again she can go to the match and I will go shopping.

Has anyone been following the allegations against Ronaldo? It's not getting much press here but seems to be gaining traction.

Kathryn Mayorga, the woman who alleges that Cristiano Ronaldo raped her, has revealed extensive details of the events she claims took place in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009.

The 34-year-old teacher claims the superstar footballer forced her to have sex with him in the bathroom of his penthouse suite, despite repeatedly being told not to. Mayorga also revealed the protracted legal process by which she subsequently agreed to settle the claims. It was an agreement which, her lawyers claim, was never honoured by Ronaldo and contains documents that prove he knew she had not consented.
Police in LA have also said they're re-opening an investigation from the same date in LA but not confirmed into who: https://twitter.com/danroan/status/1046862763014918151

Newcastle United will not be sold this season despite approach from Peter Kenyon. This was said by Mike Ashley after he promised the squad a free holiday on him if relegation is avoided. Before leaving he appeared to give a two finger salute to the protesting fans.

Can't even describe the state the club is in right now. Mike Ashley has been far more active than he's ever been all of a sudden. Can understand what he means by the Kenyon approach though. He doesn't believe Kenyon can aquire the funds for both a sale and beyond that.

Forget Man Utd/ Newcastle, the big game is on at 12:30 live on the BBC Red Button. Peterborough Sports v Chorley , FA Cup, a far more interesting fixture :)

Except he did. I mean he's basically grinning as he's doing it. It's like this Russian poisoning incident in which they flat out deny in the most sarcastic way possible just to rub it in.

The state of this football club is surely something the Premier League need to look at soon. We're not exactly setting a great example in the greatest league in the world both on and off the field.

Well your team is doing pretty well today thus so far.:D:D

Re: Season 2018/2019

Seems like you cursed it. A team 2-0 up that could've pressed on just shat the bed along with Benitez. Only god will know what he said to the team in the dressing room but they came back out like England against Croatia, hell bent on calling it a day and taking the half off.

Awful, negative stuff from a pretty dire football club right now. From Rafalution to Benitez showing signs on why he's been given the boot of many clubs before. This is the same reason Lascelles had a pop at Rafa earlier in the season, constantly being told to play negative football. We just witnessed it first hand. I've heard of defending a lead but to close up shop at 2-0 when you're playing the best football you've played all season is just diabolical. Seeing the first calls from fans for Benitez to leave alongside Ashley. Bad times.

I like Mourinho (hate MUFC obviously;) )

Actually, according to his post match interview, the fact it rained today and Brexit issues are all his fault. Decided not to like him now.

Only three shots in total from both sides in first half, none on target, didn’t Liverpool go a full 90 minutes on Wednesday without a single shot on target either.

Usain Bolt has scored his first goals for a professional football team, getting two on his maiden start for Central Coast Mariners in a friendly.

The Jamaican eight-time Olympic sprint champion scored the Mariners' third and fourth goals in a 4-0 win over Macarthur South West and celebrated with his trademark lightning bolt pose.

A bit late to be starting a professional career at 32, but a few clubs might be starting to look at him ! The ref. will never catch him that's for sure.

They've only got themselves to blame. Well done the few England fans, who are viewing from a very long distance....

Get out and support your local non-league team. You might even enjoy yourself, whatever the result ! Better chance than sitting in front of the TV watching cosmetic Premiership rubbish !

Well the TV and radio commentators plus bbc online experts all agree without exception. A little soft maybe but a clear tap on the ankle with no doubt whatsoever.

Sorry but justice was done as the sooner we have VAR the better IMO.

That would still have been a penalty with VAR, not a single ‘expert ‘ commentator agrees with you.
