Re: TiVo

I hope you can assure me. That engineer has really put me off getting TIVO.
He kept saying things like "if you get it now you'll be stuck with this box and you know what VM are like they won't swap it out unless its broken. Your better off waiting mate".
I know it sounds like total rubbish (even writing it now i can see how it sounds) but he was so matter-of-factly (if thats a word). I have to say I don't get taken in by many people, I do not suffer fools gladly believe me. So if he was lying he was a flipping good one.
Also I don't know what he would gain from lying to me, in fact he would lose from what he told me about getting more money installing TIVO boxes than he would installing VM boxes.
I'm hoping someone on here is in the know and can say for sure it's total poo as i'm a vip50 customer and want the priority install. (It took me three weeks to convince the missus to get it)

Personally, I'd be inclined to call CS and make a complaint about such an unprofessional member of staff.

Sorry you've had a poor customer experience with this tech. Sounds like he was very ill informed regarding TiVo.

I can assure you that it's all rubbish. Not all techs are like him :)

Re: TiVo

Just wondering, has VM announced the pricing structure for TiVo yet?? I'm on VIP20 at the minute and thinking of going to VIP50, but am interested to see what the price would be for such packages with a TiVo?!

Apologies if this has been asked before, but hey - there are 196 pages so far on this forum!! I'd be here for a few days catching up!!

Many thanks in advance!!

Not sure of the exact install cost but I think it will be the same on VIP50 as it is on VIP20 and it's only an extra £3 per month on top of your package.

Don't be sucked in. Look at the evidence! The "evidence" is very negative in reality.

In the absence of a definitive statement from VM confusion reigns. I firmly believe we are being used as a proving ground for a new product. All this business about top 1000 and only to those who had a unique number and then it's everybody who's registered and then it's just about the whole customer base. VIP customers have been treated very shabbily.

The box is obviously not ready for release into the wild. The existing V+ is a far more appropriate unit for the vast majority of customers. Three well proven tuners and fully functioning VOD. I have had two V+ boxes since they came out and they give me all that most people will ever need.

If you want uTube get it on your PC.

I can honestly say that I have no issues with my two V+ boxes and as for Sky, well the least said the better, except for VOD, what VOD?

To be honest mate I have no issues with my V+ but you ask around there are still little bugs , TIVO will be working hard to iron all it's bugs out for the major push.

I have been following you muppetman on this forum and I know how keen you are on getting the Tivo. I am very interested too but not until it is in a position to fulfill all the original promises.

Good luck with yours when ever you get it and I shall look forward to reading your posts. I mean that sincerely!:):):)

I agree with you , I've always liked new gadgets and am prepared to work through the bugs, I have used TIVO whilst in the States and was hooked on the UI , I also like the HD epg which makes the V+ epg look dated now.
