No, Sky Movies was completely rebranded as Sky Cinema, including the linear channels.

I know what you are saying but there are two ways to access movies .You can go into 'Movies' through the tv guide or you can go into 'Cinema' ,as i said earlier the movies are the same just one is on demand(Cinema) and the other scheduled(Movies)

My point being that 'Movies' imo is now redundant with the introduction of Cinema and i wouldn't be surprised if it is discontinued soon

So Box Office is officially shutting down, but its no great loss as the linear service is now 20 years old and they now have the Sky Store anyway.

Sky is to close its twenty year old pay-per-view TV platform in January 2017, as the broadcaster seeks to boost online services.
Sky Box Office, first launched in 1996 via Sky's analogue service, soon became one of Sky Digital's early selling points, offering subscribers access to numerous feeds containing sports and movies, with multiple showings of films to allow a near on-demand service on linear TV. In 2011, the main part of the service became Sky Movies Box Office, later Sky Cinema Box Office.

It will now close on the 4th January 2017, with viewers being directed to the Sky Store as the preferred alternative way of buying movies. There is no further impact on the remaining Sky Cinema linear or on-demand service.

No what you are saying about TV Guide then movies, that is just the Channel listings for ALL the movie channels Cinema and all the other ones like Film4 and TCM.

Cinema on the main menu is just the current movies that are playing on the Cinema channels but in On Demand form. In the same way that if you go to a channel and a film already started it asks you to download so you can watch from the start.

Ah i see what you mean ,'Movies' is somewhere to put all the other movie channels like True Movies and movies4men .I had actually forgot about them mainly because i the movies are usually rubbish :)

It's probably rarely used these days , the cost of running it now probably outweighs the revenue generated from it. It also frees satellite capacity up for Sky to use elsewhere.

For anyone looking to join Sky, Sky Q has now reverted back to an 18 month minimum term from today.

Also Fibre broadband has reverted to an 18 month minimum term from today too.

The changes are now live on sky.com

Is the standard broadband also 18 months or does that remain 12 months ?

This is just for new customers.

Existing TV customers upgrading will have a 12m contract. (It seems to be an attempt to stem the numbers of people cancelling to rejoin on a new customer contract!).

Existing customers upgrading from Broadband Unlimited to Fibre will have an 18m contract on Fibre.

Existing customers will have new 18m min terms for TV if adding these offers: 25Gb Fibre for £20/month, Unlimited Fibre for £25/month, Fibre Max for £30/month. (These prices include line rental!!)

Guess who'll be next....

It's been over 2 months since VM increased prices, and that was last year anyway so no one will notice...
