No I was talking about Sky Sports Racing not the Action rebrand

Ah, right! Well, it's being described as a 'new channel', so I guess we will need to wait for the details, although I would have thought that HD was a given.

World Box is a poor example, Den! Very poor quality indeed!

True, the Clubland / NOW app also seems to have gone the way of the dodo.

All these oodles of forthcoming streaming apps predicted by some have not transpired at all...

But both are examples of streamed linear TV, Den. That just wasn't going to fly - it was the worst of all worlds. Scheduled TV which you couldn't record, and poor quality at that.

If you think this is anywhere near a justification for the view expressed by some who think that nowt will ever change and that that streamed services won't be taking over, you have picked two very bad examples!

Starzplay is coming soon and that will not be the only new SVOD service to appear on Virgin Media in the foreseeable future.

Non-appearance is either technical, regulatory or commercial. I would guess commercial in this case taking the hint that it is not technical.

There was no hint. I know nothing about this alleged app. I was just interested in why Den assumes a non-launch is for technical reasons.

Incidentally, I see the webpage has now gone.

That was the first thing that came into my head l have to agree but obviously what has transpired since suggest a wholly different reason for the non launch.

Virgin getting to test out 8 HD channels per frequency at the minute with Sky and BT pay per view events at the same time. I wonder if anyone noticed a dip in picture quality on the other six channels or felt that for £20 the picture quality was poor on the PPV.

It seems the promises of lots of apps on the V6 has gone the same way as the promises of new apps when the Tivo launched

Not true. Virgin Media see themselves as being aggregators of content. The rubbish linear apps have gone, but we are set to get Starzplay and others look likely to arrive in 2019 as well. Hopefully, Prime may be one of them, given that this has now arrived on BT.
