The key issue dividing Sky and Virgin Media is price, with the possible underlying issue that Sky is thought to be keen to retain Sky Atlantic as an exclusive part of its own pay-TV offer.

So basically you know jack all and are just showboating to make it look like its not Virgins fault.

The clear fact is Sky don't want other providers to get their hands on it and as such have priced it out of their reach and that's a fact.

Actually, it's an opinion or a supposition, as none of the commercial terms have ever been made public, to the best of my knowledge.

I am in agreement with your supposition, but that doesn't make it a fact...;)

My point exactly, its incredibly misleading to march around telling people 'I've seen the prices and they are eyewatering' when its clearly a lie.

Maybe if we all stop talking about wanting Sky Atlantic and just state we are not bothered about it, Sky might think there isn't anymore people who want it and then we eventually get it.

Thanks!:) Every time I see "plus" or "+" next to a channel, I always think of timeshifted.

Liberty owned UPC in Ireland carries Sky News HD & Sky Sports News HD, so if a new deal is being negotiated, there is no reason to think Sky Atlantic might not be part of it.

Lets just say you don't know.

Chinese whispers and rumours are just that. It sounds plausable but that doesn't make it automatically true. The best conspiracy theories are the ones that sound plausible.

I still think virgin should try and do their own premium channel instead of worrying about Atlantic. Just do it better than the Virgin 1 attempt

Or the fact that they don't carry Atlantic points to the probability that such a deal is unlikely because even a company that was able to negotiate a better hd offering from Sky failed to get it?

Like Qtx says, we don't know.

Am I the only one on this forum who is not losing sleep that we don't have SKY Atlantic on VM? I find paying a large some of money for SKY sports each month and getting a inferior HD product much more annoying:mad:
