To clarify, pressing OK will simply change the channel on one of the tuners to that channel. You can then either press "Info" or "Record".

No that is not right either, it will change the channel if the show is airing so you use the rec button to get info instead, however if the show is not currently on then pressing ok will give you the info panel.

When watching a rec programme, how can you bring the green timeline up? The only was ive found is to pause and play. With no lcd on the box its useful to know

Just press play to bring up or dismiss the timeline.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

My TiVo install day is tomorrow (Weds).
Just had a thought as last week I received the good will call from CS about keeping my existing box for free. However, I'm one of the few customers moving directly from an old silver Samsung SD box to TiVo. This will mean 'turning on' HD for my account for the first time. Surely I'm entitled to a V Box rather than keeping my old SD box? I've read loads of threads here about customers keeping their V+ box for free when they upgrade to TiVo. So my free deal isn't the same as other customers free deals. Correct?

Yes they are are and I got it for a while and then it stopped (touch wood). So it seems a common problem if you read across different forums (it has been called the HDMI HANDSHAKE).

Hope this helps you and i think that it is been looked in to as well?

I'm booked for installation between 8am and 1pm tomorrow morning, and so far my SA V+ is working as it should. Incidentally I have not had a call from CS for any special offer - multiroom or otherwise :(

I also have an install tomorrow (10am - 2pm) and my v+ is working as normal. Purchased online and selected i wanted to keep the v+ for 6.50 a month, now a bit annoyed some people are allowed to keep theirs for free!

The offer appears to be random but if they go like mine it's not worth it.

Im sure its been mentioned before, but theres no "view from, or last viewed" when youve partially watched a rec?

carlwaring 26-04-2011 22:09

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Recordings will always resume from the point it was last stopped but no, there is no way to specify a point in the recording.

Press 'skip' when you either FF or REW to go to the next white marker. Plus Tivo FF/REW faster than V+ anyway so you should be able to get to any point in the programme very quickly anyway :)

Is there any way I could get the TiVo box to make suggestions and recommendations based on what I watch, but not what the missus watches?

Anyone?
