From what I have been privy too, there's a very good chance that Netflix will be bundled into packages with VM once the trial is done.

I can now confirm I am hearing that Netflix will maybe appear on the XL and VIP Packages but was waiting on more info before posting.

Premier Sport would be nice, especially as it's carrying the lion's share of the Rugby League world cup.

If it is in the XL/VIP, as I said before, VM will probably phase out their own OD offering

well that is interesting MB. I have access to Netflix by other means but have never bothered with it as i knew i would not want to pay the subscription. Now if its to be included in the XL pack it might well be worth giving it a go.

I know a lot of us bash VM from time to time but they have really made good strides in 2013.

Getting the BT/ESPN sports pack included in the XL package was a great result- certainly imo.

Several channel launches including TCM HD, Animal Planet HD, TLC (SD & HD- my missus and kids love that channel), the ITV HD channels amongst others. Now it appears Netflix will arrive -also in the XL pack- and the expected launch of more channels including maybe Sky News HD, Sky Sports News HD, CNN and CNN USA HD, more movie/music channels (would love Scuzz to come onto VM) and who knows even Sky Atlantic and Universal HD. the XL pack has surely never been as good value.

Even if SA doesnt come (i think it will eventually) VM's top tier TV package has just about everthing Sky has -even more.

i can only think of Sky Sports 3, 4 and F1 HD that are missing.

If this all happens it will have been a vintage year for VM.:)

Why not?

They would catch up channels (including Sky etc as they are Catch Up) and phase out the content they pay for like BBC Worldwide Content. Maybe not completly, but they will cut back, otherwise how can they afford it all?

Only if there is duplication. The strategy now is to give us as much choice as possible from different sources.

Personally, being able to access VOD content through the same set of menus is a great feature and I hope its not ditched in favour of having to go into individual apps. Why would I want to use a BBC app, a ITV app, a Sky app etc, when I can access all of these through the same set of menus?

I think you are right, Horizon, it would be better if all the programme choice was in one list, split into genres, channels, etc.

It is a good TIVO feature that you can browse the TV and it will come up with absolutely everything that is available on the set top box. Absolutely brilliant. If they can just take that one extra step to combine all those films, dramas, shows, etc in the same way as the remainder of on demand content, that would be even more brilliant.

Presumably, if this scenario were to happen, then catchup would remain the same and available via the backwards EPG. It would just be the On Demand boxset series type content that they buy from the various content providers that would be replaced by Netflix?

I can't remember the last time I watched something from On Demand; there is no need when you have the massively larger content on Netflix. So if this were to happen as OCAV is suggesting, it would make sense to me.
