Friendly banter between 2 sets of football fans, fair enough, but you seem to have gone off on a mad one about it.

I have never said that we would definitely win it. I have said that we hope that we do well and touch wood, do. Which fan doesn't? Do you go into a match/season without hope?

Anyways, have we pointed out that you have always won feck all? ;)

I never insinuated you did say that, i simply pointed out that your bloody media do and continue to ram it down our throats even during games which have bugger all to do with England, I really dont want to know every time Sven has a dump.

There's nothing wrong with having hope either, just remember i'll be here when its dashed and we will all get along fine.

You can even come back and visit me - we can have a virtual cup of tea - and i can tell you why i was right alllll along.

Now - isnt that better?

Just remember - its only a game and this is friendly banter - nothing else.

It makes me laugh that...it just sounds daft. I am not saying that you have to support England, far from it...it just sounds like that is all you want from watching football is to see England fail...your priorities are 90% England fail, 10% support Scotland...sad...

Anyway, you seem to be ignoring the fact that it is the taking part, which we are, which is important... ;)

I think, within the context of the thread, TBR is doing ok.

This has to be one of the longest lasting trolls, without getting OTT for a while - mainly because TBR is treating it all as a joke ;)

As a half Welsh, England dwelling person, who was born in Malta & has a sister who has lived in Scotland for 20 years, I can only take a step back & smile :)

Yeah, a 40 year old hat! Since then all we've heard about is said bloody hat!

We've seen the original hat, we've analysed the hat, we've had the hat in glorious color, we've had the makers of the hat prance around on the telly telling us how the hat was won (on many, many occasions), how the hat was over the line, how the hat wasnt over the line, how the hat could be made again, how the dog found the hat, how the hat brought the "nation" together and finally 40 years on they still talk about the hat during games not involving the bloody hat.

Your right - it is old bloody hat - you just need to realise it.

Did I use the phrase "old hat" wrong? I thought that it meant that something was getting boring...hence why I used it with taking the mick out of Scotland failing...

My use of it had nothing to do with the "win". Paranoid are we? ;)

No cups, just the smug knowledge that the so called World Champions were in fact just - well - rubbish.
