You really should find out, log into your account or check a paper statement.

You could save alot of money by switching to Octopus and going on their tracker Tariff or you may learn that yours is a better deal, you don't even have to speak to a human to swap, the new provider does it all automatically when you request a switch and any credit funds go with it.

At the moment(today) I'm saving 23% on Gas and 16% on Electricity being on the Tracker and these are on the high end of the ever changing prices, they're often alot lower.

I have reluctantly signed up for a smart metre. Only because I think this could save money.

Hope I get mine soon then I'll replace the IHD with it.

When you connect it make sure you wait the hour as per the instructions. After the hour you should start to see the live readings appearing on your app.

Thanks, I also heard to make sure both wireless frequencies are separated with different names and passwords as it only connects to 2.4, luckily that is the first thing I did when I got my hub5.

How is your device will it be useful and does it replace your IHD?

It has replaced the IHD. It is very useful and has already shown me how much power some devices are pulling. Based off that i can look for lower power devices over time.

Yes gas and electric with octopus (my previous provider went bust and was bought by octopus).

I have people in the house all day so my reckoning is I will pay less if I'm on agile. At least if the current trends continue. It won't be difficult to run the dishwasher at night.

I had my first full month Tracker bill today, I saved around £11 over SVT, the daily Tracker rates are a little higher this month for some reason but it's still a saving. I didn't have to do the maths the Octoprice site works that out for you.

Well, my move to Octopus went through ok, in the end.
Lots of fun last week because they created two accounts on my address.
Trying to get them to fix that was ... painful.

I seem to be on something called "Flexible Octopus" atm.
It doesnt mention Economy 7 at all, so that may be fixed already.

Attempted a Smart Meter booking, but its unclear if it worked, as they dont list anything in my account.

Flexible Octopus is the normal Tariff I was on before switching to the Tracker.

Smart meters installed yet?

I was transferred late February, and all appeared to be going smoothly until the 8th of May bill, where the system credited the April electricity bill, then recharged me for all electricity usage (already paid for) since I was transferred on the 24th February, putting my account nearly £200 in debit (I owed them).

Took me 5 emails and 3 weeks to sort out (I was in North Cyprus for half the time, so I wasn’t going to call them, and once you’ve started an email chain, it’s better, imho, to carry on that route for consistency and continuity) - seems resolved now.

Flexible Octopus is the non-smart tracker tariff.

They should have sent a confirmation email for the booking.

I had the same issue, It took a phone call and about 30mins to fix. I was told it was down to Shell messing up the final meter readings which they had sent twice. Octopus was able to check back over my reading and correct the bill. My bills have been fine since.

Agreed - but Octopus should have had some form of validation to ensure that shouldn’t have happened…
