One such idiot thought it a good idea to pull straight across me today at a junction. Only the fact I was going at about 5mph saved him, I missed him by inches. Had I hit him, my car might have got a slight bump - he on the otherhand would likely be in hospital, if not worse. Complete moron. |

1. THINK! Remember, you are in a shared space designated area. 2. STOP! Stand near the edge of your gate but do not exit. 3. USE YOUR EYES AND EARS! Look all around for cyclists, and listen. 4. WAIT UNTIL IT'S SAFE TO EXIT! If a bicycle is coming, let it pass. 5. LOOK AND LISTEN! When it's safe, walk onto the pavement. 6. ARRIVE ALIVE! Keep looking and listening. 7. WEAR A HELMET! (optional) In case of falling trees, meteorites etc. you just googled for the Green X (Pavement) Code 2018 didn't you? Sigh. |

Head bans student from cycling to schools without number plates.
Of course the cycling lobby is against it but that's only to be expected. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-45636870 |

Re: [Update] Cyclist convicted of "wanton and furious driving"
I can see both sides of this, however to a pint having school children with'number plates' will help track children if they ever got lost or in an incident and at the same time allow reporting of said child to the school if they are riding angerously or causing trouble.

Re: [Update] Cyclist convicted of "wanton and furious driving"
IMO it is wholly wrong for children to be monitored in this way. The potential for malicious abuse is obvious.
It will also serve to discourage cycling in the generation most likely to enjoy the most benefit. What a moron. |
Re: [Update] Cyclist convicted of "wanton and furious driving"
Who exactly are you calling a moron?
If it helps prevent accidents and helps keep children safer then it's not a bad thing. Make it for all cyclists on the road. |

It won’t prevent accidents. An accident happens, erm, accidentally whether you have a reg plate or not. It won’t keep children safe; it may expose them to malicious fake reports; it may lead to the stress of stolen/swapped/lost number plates. Let kids ride a bike and enjoy their school time without watching their every move. Dear Lord. |
