Isn't the number after the group name in My Shows supposed to show the total number of recordings inside it? Most of mine no longer tally. I have one that shows "Group Name (5)", yet there are 23 inside. On the right it shows "5 recordings (3 new)". I have another one showing "Group Name (8)" and (8 recordings (8 new)" yet there are 100's inside.


Also if you rename a wishlist, the new name is no longer (since yesterday) displayed in My Shows and if the wishlist has multiple items then strange symbols are now being displayed.

The numbering will show the specific recording items in the folder, however the folder itself may also show content from on-demand streaming sources for that series.

You can change the view in a folder to only show recordings by pressing the blue button. The number of items will then match the number next to the folder in the main My Shows.

Thanks but it is not definitely not that. I genuinely have more actual recordings in the group than are indicated by the number. I just confirmed in a few groups by pressing blue. It is definitely not right.

It is another bug with Series Link+. If the folder contains recordings from multiple channels, the count is only reflecting a single channel. I'm now in the ridiculous situation that a new recording was made today but I have to go to a folder at the bottom of the list (in date order) in order to access it. We cannot even use the blue button anymore to see what is new. Even if I change the series link+ to all channels, which I definitely DO NOT WANT, it does not change.

The "Installing Software" screen is actually setting up the database on the hard drive, so does need to be done again in this case.

No, thanks but more like Egyptian hieroglyphics :D like they have messed the character sets up. Question marks in boxes and other funny symbols. The main point is, if I rename a wishlist, that name should appear in My Shows as it did until yesterday.

P.S. Has anyone else been getting spurious messages on the Tivo the last few days about "Your mobile or online request has been received. However it could not be scheduled to recorded because it does not exist." It goes on to say "this program appears at the bottom of My Planned Recordings.

I nor anyone else has been anywhere near a mobile or online request and there is nothing at the bottom of My Planned Recordings.

I had a folder with 100+ recordings in it this morning but it indicated. (8) Two more recorded this morning and it continued to say (8) and staying at the bottom of the list. This afternoon another 2 recorded and it now says (10) and has moved up the order. All 4 new recordings are on the same channel.

Of course they are all duplicates and old episodes and I have "new only" but there is no episode information so that is irrelevant.

What a mess.

Now I have just had a whole bunch of folders just suddenly disappear, including the ones with 100's of recordings including from today and the ones with symbols. Is this a joke or what?!

I think something isn't right with your box. I've personally had none of the issues you've described with the update

I haven't had any of the issues that you mention, but odd little things have started happening eg a manual recording of a planned recording appeared yesterday that I hadn't set.

When I deleted it, the word "Manual" stayed there with the start time, but the rest if the entry disappeared!

If the TiVo is set to record the same programme twice, I usually try to delete the duplicate. Normally, it completely disappears, but today two shows that I did it to remained, albeit greyed out :confused:

Have you tried renaming a wishlist that has a folder in My Shows, for example? Does the new name reflect straight away in My Shows for you? What happens if you put a space in the name, like "a folder"?

Some of the folders have come back after new recordings have been made but the counter only indicates the new recordings since Mondays update, yet there are older recordings in there too.

I'm convinced they are bugs as opposed to BenMcr's "thought" that my box is screwed but I am used to Virgins dismissive nature so I certainly don't expect anything to get fixed.

I don't know if it is due to that program being a series link as well as matching a wishlist. I noticed last night when an episode was recording it appeared in the root of My Shows (the folder was hidden due to no recordings since the update) and it also appeared in the wishlist folder. I deleted it from the folder (it was yet another unwanted duplicate with no episode information) but it was still recording in the root! I played the recording and the recording only started at the point I deleted "it" from the folder.

I had none of these problems before the last two updates so these bugs have clearly been introduced. I suspect there are some issues either with old series links from multiple channels not being merged correctly when the update converted them to All channel or some other bug with Series Link+ not working.

I'm sure it does not affect everyone but for me at least half the counts for folders in My Shows are incorrect and this is clearly leading to other problems, I mentioned, like disappearing folders when the newest recordings are deleted.

Often this is the "Latent bug". A change of code deactivates the bug and the programmer assumes it's fixed but it doesn't go away. Further changes then re-activate it as the original bug was never fixed. It's a familiar problem in a complex code build.

Over about the last week, my TiVo has started placing discreet messages regarding short cuts on the screen eg press x button to go straight to the beginning (can't remember if this was during a recording or VOD).

I've also seen a message overlaid over the programme that would be ready to play after going into 'My Shows', this message tells you how to move around your list of recordings. You have to press up or down to clear it.

Perhaps this is a recently introduced feature of the new software??
