Oh come on Mick you would be the first to shout foul if troops got permission to shoot.
We use the law and prosecute ,we don't shoot people unless of course they have guns and use them. Then we leave it to the armed police.Once we use troops to keep order we are no longer a democracy.

Anyway I think we are a long way from total anarchy. Most of the UK's citizens are at home tonight feeling disgusted at the minority copy cats rioters.I should think most are online at the moment or watching TV.;)

The army won't be given permission to shoot to kill though. This can't go on another night, they are destroying peoples homes and businesses.

Actually the police will shoot if any weapon that may cause death is used.. The armed police don't just respond to gun crime.

This isn't though a simple crime, this is dangerous mobs who I'm very surprised haven't killed anyone yet. The police are not equipped to deal with this.

I'm just waiting for Luton to be the next effected

This is not plain old 'rioting' this is terrorism created by our own people.

This is an absolute disgrace and just like any other "terrorists" anyone caught trying to blow anything up or torch buildings should be shot with Live ammunition.

Injuries but no known fatalities... How much longer can this go on before Armed Response take proper action.

Terrorism committed by British people on British soil. I don't even know what to say. Due to my age its the first time I've seen something this serious and been able to understand it fully.

Same, you usually see this kind of thing happen in another country and we think nothing of it but now :/.

I didn't think it was that serious until tonight.

I was in Moss-Side during the early '80's riots, The local electrical shop got looted.. I remember watching them load up the van with TV's then rush off with their blue lights on
