What happened to Arsenal? Didn't Wenger promise at least another defender and a goalkeeper? Looks like they might be a few players short this season.

Levy is a hell of a business man. £1.5m for Krancjar? £8m for Van der Vaart? Next window £15m for Christiano Ronaldo. You've heard it here first.

From what Redknapp has said, it seems he was offered to them at that price rather than negotiated.

He got the two defenders. Never promised a keeper but kept his options open. Would have liked one to be honest. But nothing has happened, it's typical Arsenal. They were never going to do a deal if the price wasn't right.

If Van Der Vaart joins Spurs (permanently), i'll eat my hat. Major bad career move.

Dont think its any worse then staying at Real to be perfectly honest Niles, yes I would've prefered VDV at say Arsenal myself.

He'll get regular football at Spurs thats 1 thing for sure where as at Real he'll be lucky to be subbed ones in a blue moon.

Screw him at Arsenal, we have enough attacking midfielders. They are everywhere, might as well be helping out the stewards at this rate. Rather than giving us another selection headache with Arshavin, Walcott, Nasri, and others I would rather we had got a keeper or a defensive midfielder to rotate or play alongside (depending the situation) song.

Spurs puzzle me slightly. A great signing for 8million but why did they not get another striker or defender, two positions which they actually need more strength?

Spurs NEEDED an extra striker, so l cannot understand why Levy went for him, Obviously King and Woodgate are nearly finished, and we have enough midfielders and defence players.

I was under the impression that Levy was after a couple of strikers, and we didn't get one, when l heard Vaart, l said who?, who has gone from Tottenham ?

LIES!!!!! Everyone knows that the Premiership is where it's at. Haven't you even heard of Soccer AM? :D This week is actually Non-League Day where people are encouraged to go to their local team. Pretty good idea although I shall not be taking part. I don't think lower league football is any more 'real' than Premiership football, that is a rather bizarre statement.

Incidentally while listening to the often excellent Football Weekly I found out that AFC Wimbledon, the club set up by fans after their old club, Wimbledon, were moved to Milton Keynes and renamed the MK Dons, could be up in the Football League next year. What a fantastic achievement that would be!

They could then face the aforementioned MK Dons in the Football League in a matter of seasons. What a game that would be, and what a moment if AFC Wimbledon were to beat the team that effectively abolished Wimbledon and caused all those fans to lose their club.

Rooney back in the papers again today. You do wonder why the papers print this right before a major international game and then wonder why he doesn't play very well.

Still as long as it sells papers

I grew up round the corner from Plough Lane and my first ever football watch was watching WImbledon Vs York, in 1980. I supported them through the years, following the original crazy Gang (Fash, Vinnie, Lanchez etc etc).

Once they became the MK Dons, it was never the same and although I still look out for AFC Wimbledon results, I did feel like I lost a club to support.

Hopefully AFC Wimbledon will 'do a Wimbledon' again and be more successful than the MK Dons. And then justice will be served.
