But it's not an insult I mean that the people that frequent this board tend to be more intelligent than most of the people in charge at NTL.

People-I've added a poll to this thread for those who have been upgraded to vote in.

Please vote according to what part of the ntl franchise area you fall into so we can follow the upgrade's path.

If you're unsure as to whether you are Bromley or Langley supplied, then please just ask. :)

[Edit]-2 x Extra vote options added for those who haven't been upgraded. :)

Are you sure this is the way to do it? I'm sure that this web page was there a couple of weeks ago, and that it was the way to upgrade from the old speeds e.g. the paid way

The link is now triggering the new speeds in the areas that are enabled, if your area isn't ready then it tells you it can't do it. See posts above ;)

Please-we don't need to see speed test results, we'll take your word for it. ;)

Just spoken to someone in technical and they have told me a letter is being sent out with the exact date you will get your upgrade. There is also going to be a microsite setup where you can put your details in to do with the upgrade.

Interesting link, found this in it:
Quote:

What happens if I reach my usage allowance?

Over the next 12 months, ntl will provide tools to allow customers to measure their data usage. When these tools are available, customers who approach their data allowance will be able to choose to

* reduce their data usage for the remainder of the month
* upgrade to a tier of service with a higher usage allowance
* pay for usage above their allowance.

Until these tools are available, ntl will monitor usage but not apply the 3GB allowance, except in cases where heavy use is affecting network performance.

manchester started out as NYNEX then was taken over by Cable and Wireless then eventually NTL bought the residential part of Cable and Wireless - so us lot in manchester are classed as 'ex c and w'.
