After all the rumours of him joining AC Milan, United, Liverpool etc Renato Sanches has just went on loan to Swansea

Edit - £5m loan fee and £30m right to buy him at the end of the loan. He's still pretty rough but if he fulfils his potential that will be a bargain.

The thing is we don't keep unhappy players and generally replace them with a far better more expensive variety rather then scraping the bottom of the barrel market looking for cheap misfits or malcontents.;):p:

Yes they might be in the 3rd division but if my memory serves me your beloved were there not that long ago and if they keep picking the wrong manager ;):p: it might not be long before they end up there again.:p:

Mickey Mouse in your opinion they may be but their history at least includes two top tier league titles which of course the second side in Hampshire can only ever dream about.:p:;)

Re: Season 2017/2018

After cryptic conformation that Benitez would likely quit at the seasons end. I'm coming to the conclusion that it's not unreasonable to suggest he could in fact walk tomorrow after a disastrous transfer window, Newcastle have the rest of their day to save their manager. After being lumped with £100m, the board just forget to tell he'd have to reduce the wage bill first. Something which isn't happening and thus they botched the list of players he gave them.

Re: Season 2017/2018

Mike Ashley and Newcastle only has himself to blame if Rafa walks away as they don't seem to realise what a top manager he is.

Well with Sanchez leaving and Arsenal bidding £92 million for Lemar on transfer deadline day he will be lucky to last until the end of the year.:)

They lost any history by going bankrupt twice robbing local businesses and charities, the current incarnation has no history. New club new beginning. :)

Watching places like r/soccer and twitter for the deadline day transfers is like watching a pack of angry little old ladies fighting over black Friday deals.

One does wonder why many clubs leave it so late.

Is understood that Newcastle have rejected an £18m bid for Dwight Gayle, which also nods to Newcastle not signing a striker today, or anyone for that matter.

Some quotes about the transfer spending this summer.

Quote:

The Premier League may have gone money crazy, but they are still being blown out of the water by PSG it seems as they sign Kylian Mbappe on a season-long loan, with an option to buy next summer.

Quote:

Will this spending continue?Yes, says Tim Bridge from Deloitte who says the big clubs are now so big on a global scale that the trend will continue to go up
