Oh yes - the linux one is far superior for my needs, the accesability of being able to zoom in by holding down windows and moving the mouse wheel up and down were ideal for me.

Unfortunately I've not been able to get it all working since I put my x1650pro in.

Still that's a topic for another thread when I try again.

One of the best ways to help yourself....even when first starting out with Linux..is to help others.Share what you do know and learn what you dont as it were:)

I probably would`nt remember half of the little i do know if it was`nt for helping others with some of that very same stuff i`ve managed myself along the way.
I happily accept that even after close to 2 years.....not just with Linux but on any pc i am still the preverbial noob,and no doubt always will be.:dunce:

Had swapped over one of the el cheapo 19" belinea`s for the 22"..........for only £10 more.

Offered by manager due to "inconvenience caused".
The initial matching 19" i originally requested never arrived from Aberdeen as promised and that first 22" i settled for had a dead(stuck) pixel smack bang in the center,as did my lads new HDTV:rolleyes:

That "Inconvenience caused" spiel sounds so familiar eh;)

Anyway,still not had time to really play with my own new toys and the kids wont let me anywhere near theirs..........i wonder why:angel:

In a rather pointless gesture as we normally access the machine via ssh I just changed the wallpaper on the nthw game server, only punky has seen it, via vnc, but I think he likes it :)

A friend has been hankering after a fish tank desktop for ages and I gave in and installed one for her. I think it's a nightmare but she is captivated by it. I have even had to install the screen saver version as well. They would drive me nuts but if any one wants a animated desktop or screen saver I can recommend this site. You're quite right to say so, it is a good render and any constructive critisism should be helpful.

Personally I would try to change the lighting position and maybe lower it a tad, the shadow of the statue's hand seems that the lighting is at a very high level and slightly weird, might be better lowing it about 30-45 degrees and see if that works better. (Was going to mention the cat but beaten to it).

It has a shadow but as it's supposed to be an overcast day you can't see it that well because it is a soft shadow.The next time you are outside on an overcast day check your shadow..you'll not see it as much as if the sun was fully out. ;)

I'll show you the non textured version so you can be certain.

I need to add that the IBL lighting is very difficult to synchronise in Bryce.It's dealt with much better in Carrara Pro 6 and Poser 7.However I wanted to have a go at just modelling and texturing in Bryce and just for once getting the overcast lighting.

No not a nitpicker at all, just trying to help you get the best out of what you do. I do use Poser (mostly) and Bryce (not so much), and lighting is the key mostly.

I did say your pic was good, it's a great set up and a good render but would you rather hear constructive info (not really a critisism either) rather than putting me down?

I can send you some of my work if you want and you're more than welcome to help in places that I'm no good at too. I ain't saying I'm an expert, far from it, but I do dabble and spend quite a bit of time learning.
