I think mine download overnight, when I go to the my apps it now has space used info, don't appear to have a controller battery life indicator.

The light on the power brick was orange, it's normally white, I turn on and had a green install bar on screen.

I was just about to type exactly the same thing, for everyone else you need to turn the Xbox on manually as 'Xbox On' won't work if there is an update ready to install.

I hope the battery indicator actually does something because playing BF4 last night the controller just disconnect and it takes ages to replace the batteries when playing a game, hopefully the indicator will flash up an on screen message to warn me the batteries are low.

It took me a while to find the hard disk space setting but it can be found by going to 'My games and apps'.

Full list of what has been changed, i wish they would go into the significant performance part in detail.

When mine updated i thought i would have a quicke with TF and i had a scare. My whole screen went datk. I couldnt see a thing. I could hear the audio from TF and the audio on the dash but screen was dark. Turned off and on again and same thing. Turned tv off and on and same thing. Did a hard a reset and after tye green xbox logo the console turned off. Turned back on again and now ok. I nearly had a heart attack

The icon is always there as i recharged my batteries yesterday before the update and it is saying half full so i am guessing it will change the icon type or flash hopefully when they need recharging.

The Judder is meant to be updated in the March update, make sure your X1 is on 'instant on' as i hear that may help.

Yup, you must have the console set to "Instant On" for the update to be downloaded automatically.

The Xbox One will download the update when in standby mode. Once it has downloaded, the light on the PSU will go from white to orange. The next time you then boot up, it will install the update...

Mine updated over night (got woken up by the blinking light on the front of the console). In other news my day one controller seems to have developed a fault. The left analog stick when rotated seem to be sticking against something inside the controller and also gets stuck when pushed down. Think a repair is in order

Dismantle it and have a look before sending it back as you probably won't get a day one controller in return.

Better off just buying a new one, IMO.

If you want it repaired, then (unless MS has had another U-turn) you'll have to cover the cost of shipping the faulty controller to Prague in the Czech Republic... and then will have to wait...

You can swap the covers over and the chrome Dpad easily, but atleast try and repair it yourself it could be very simple.

My Day One Controller stopped syncing via wireless for some reason and only worked whilst connected with the cable. MS agreed it was faulty and i ended up getting a replacement day one controller.

I still have the faulty one and will eventually take it apart to see if it can be fixed but i reckon the wireless part on the controller is goosed.

An interesting read here about the change to the X1 upscaler in last weekends update.

I am still concerned about the fact that most games on the PS4 are 1080p and if this doesn't improve on the X1 i may endup buying a PS4 although i don't really want to. I am hoping that the rumoured performance boost to the way esram is used will sort out the 1080p issue, but i don't expect miracles!

Played Dead Rising 3 last night, and had fun running over zombies in the road roller.

I had a guy join my game and he was great, he was obviously a high rank than me and helped me get to the next part of the mission without triggering the next part without me being there.

Is anyone else considering getting a PS4 over the 720p, 1080p PS4 issue? After seeing posts like this it is really starting to bug me and making me think i bought too early?

The graphics difference is substantial on the PS4 version of MGS and the X1 version looks too similar to the 360 version!

I've always stated i will probably get a ps4 at some point , however it wouldn't be for multiplats , still don't care if it looks better on one than the other , Titanfall , halo , gears of war that's why i bought an xbox one , when ps4 release the new unchartered game or something that looks amazing (gameplay wise) then that's when i will buy :)

I'd always planned on getting both. Xbox for exclusive and multi-platform, PS4 for exclusives. Same as the last generation...

The Xbox One's resolution issue with multi-platform games hasn't made me wish I had a PS4 for those instead. I still prefer XBL to PSN, still have more Friends on XBL than PSN, still have more Achievements than Trophies, and still prefer the controller.

You need to use Upload Studio to share to XBL *and* SkyDrive.

Once your clips are on SkyDrive, you can share them from there (I use the SkyDrive iOS app to create public view-only links and then use Bitly to turn those into nice shareable shortlinks) or download them as MP4 files and put them somewhere else. You can download from SkyDrive via the desktop browser, or via the SkyDrive desktop or mobile apps.

I've got 10 clips so far that I have shared to XBL & SkyDrive (I had a few more but deleted them as I used some to make 5-clip compilations instead).

I've also started putting them on YouTube too: YouTube - TezcatlipocaXBL

(I used the SkyDrive app to download the clips to my iPad and export them to the YouTube Capture app)

The website is still showing it as £49.99 to me.

Via the console itself, though, it was £37.59 earlier (rather than £34.99 like someone from MS claimed it would be on Twitter).

I bought it anyway (via the X1), using credit I got from CDKeys.

I've got AC4's Freedom Cry DLC to finish first, and then I'll play either Tomb Raider or Ryse next.

While there is noticible improvements in the Xbox One version over the 360 especially the frame rate and details. The PS3 to PS4 is dramatically different. Could Konami have deliberatly made the PS4 version the best by being slipped a backhander by Sony?

I am actually now glad I don't have a next gen system yet as its giving me a better chance to see and decide which one to pick up first when I am able to afford one. Currently the PS4 is slipping in to the lead even though I much prefer Live and have a lot more friends on it.

I will most likely get it, although at the moment I don't use my Xbox One much for media anyway. My new Smart TV handles streaming, and my PS3 is still used for Blu-rays and DVDs.

If/when the Blu-ray app is improved and if/when Dolby is added, I will get the remote as I'll have a reason then to use the console for more than just games.

I will definitely be getting the official headphones, though.

I have just had a black screen of death on the X1, i pressed the Home button while BF4 was loading, the only way to get rid of the black screen was to do a hard reboot by holding down the power button on the console for several seconds.

Games like Forza are completely different to games like AC, COD and Battlefield, the issue is the 32MB of esram isn't enough for the large 1080p textures along with esram being difficult to use efficiently, however the rumoured SDK update is said to solve this issue with 1080p games going by 1 developer, i just hope they're correct as a good 90% of multiplatform games are consistently running native at 60fps on the PS4 compared to 720p on the X1 and the difference is obvious.

I started playing Ryse last night. I'm actually enjoying it so far!

The combat is quite repetitive, and there only seem to be three different types of filthy British Barbarian :D but the story is interesting enough to keep me going, plus there are enough cutscenes to break up the combat.

The only other hack 'n' slash I've played that I actually enjoyed was Heavenly Sword, because the characters, story, and voice acting were all good. I found God of War boring, DMC4 boring, and Ninja Gaiden boring plus frustrating!


I played up to part-way through chapter 4 last night in one sitting. Done the beach landing ("Saving Private Marius"), and signed off at the start of the York bit.
