The Xbox One update has started to roll out and we should all have it by the end of the weekend, not got mine yet.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Yeah, no update yet for me :(
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I think mine download overnight, when I go to the my apps it now has space used info, don't appear to have a controller battery life indicator.
The light on the power brick was orange, it's normally white, I turn on and had a green install bar on screen. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Mine is updating now

I hope the battery indicator actually does something because playing BF4 last night the controller just disconnect and it takes ages to replace the batteries when playing a game, hopefully the indicator will flash up an on screen message to warn me the batteries are low. It took me a while to find the hard disk space setting but it can be found by going to 'My games and apps'. Full list of what has been changed, i wish they would go into the significant performance part in detail. New/updated Features Update to My Game & Apps to allow sorting of games and application lists, and separate queue lists for games, applications and installs Ability to delete game and application save data Improved installation and DLC management Addition of the controller battery power indicator Improved UI for accessing friends, achievements, messages, and party chat Game DVR app to be included in the Xbox OneGuide as an app channel Update to the boot progress indicators for system update Improve consistency of UX for update & install progress Separate game, application, and install queue lists Addition of USB keyboard support Stability and performance update Improved NAT detection Network Troubleshooter improvements Blu-ray quality improvements Significant performance and stability improvements http://support.xbox.com/en-CA/xbox-o...erating-system ---------- Post added at 10:12 ---------- Previous post was at 09:31 ---------- Apparently the sharpening filter on sub-1080 games has been removed according to neowin. |

No update for me yet. I did a full power down as well
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
When mine updated i thought i would have a quicke with TF and i had a scare. My whole screen went datk. I couldnt see a thing. I could hear the audio from TF and the audio on the dash but screen was dark. Turned off and on again and same thing. Turned tv off and on and same thing. Did a hard a reset and after tye green xbox logo the console turned off. Turned back on again and now ok. I nearly had a heart attack

Re: The Xbox One Thread
I think you have to press the Xbox button on the controller to get battery level.

|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
The Judder is meant to be updated in the March update, make sure your X1 is on 'instant on' as i hear that may help.

I see a lot of X1 games are sub £40s now which is nice.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Mine updated over night (got woken up by the blinking light on the front of the console). In other news my day one controller seems to have developed a fault. The left analog stick when rotated seem to be sticking against something inside the controller and also gets stuck when pushed down. Think a repair is in order

From the looks of it, the stick just pops off once it's dismantled :)
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Better off just buying a new one, IMO.
If you want it repaired, then (unless MS has had another U-turn) you'll have to cover the cost of shipping the faulty controller to Prague in the Czech Republic... and then will have to wait... |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I'll probably do just that Matt, saves waiting around for UPS waiting two weeks etc. just means I'll lose the front cover on it, which isn't a big deal

My Day One Controller stopped syncing via wireless for some reason and only worked whilst connected with the cable. MS agreed it was faulty and i ended up getting a replacement day one controller.
I still have the faulty one and will eventually take it apart to see if it can be fixed but i reckon the wireless part on the controller is goosed. |

Wayne, did you get your Xbox One from Amazon?
Someone at the Xbox.com forums used Amazon's chat support to get a refund for just the cost of a controller so they could buy a replacement one: http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/x....aspx?pi7406=8 http://imgur.com/uU2qdU0 |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
MS is going to start doing deals on the digital marketplace, starting with Ryse:
http://www3.britxbox.co.uk/blog/2014...gital-pricing/ £34.99 from the 18th to the 24th of February. At that price I'm actually quite tempted. |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
An interesting read here about the change to the X1 upscaler in last weekends update.
I am still concerned about the fact that most games on the PS4 are 1080p and if this doesn't improve on the X1 i may endup buying a PS4 although i don't really want to. I am hoping that the rumoured performance boost to the way esram is used will sort out the 1080p issue, but i don't expect miracles! http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/di...box-one-scaler |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Played Dead Rising 3 last night, and had fun running over zombies in the road roller.
I had a guy join my game and he was great, he was obviously a high rank than me and helped me get to the next part of the mission without triggering the next part without me being there. Tonight I'm gonna set my tablet up to smartglass. |

I'd always planned on getting both. Xbox for exclusive and multi-platform, PS4 for exclusives. Same as the last generation... The Xbox One's resolution issue with multi-platform games hasn't made me wish I had a PS4 for those instead. I still prefer XBL to PSN, still have more Friends on XBL than PSN, still have more Achievements than Trophies, and still prefer the controller. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
how do I get my game clips onto my laptop, and saved in to a MP4 format?
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
You need to use Upload Studio to share to XBL *and* SkyDrive.
Once your clips are on SkyDrive, you can share them from there (I use the SkyDrive iOS app to create public view-only links and then use Bitly to turn those into nice shareable shortlinks) or download them as MP4 files and put them somewhere else. You can download from SkyDrive via the desktop browser, or via the SkyDrive desktop or mobile apps. I've got 10 clips so far that I have shared to XBL & SkyDrive (I had a few more but deleted them as I used some to make 5-clip compilations instead). I've also started putting them on YouTube too: YouTube - TezcatlipocaXBL (I used the SkyDrive app to download the clips to my iPad and export them to the YouTube Capture app) |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
The website is still showing it as £49.99 to me.
Via the console itself, though, it was £37.59 earlier (rather than £34.99 like someone from MS claimed it would be on Twitter). I bought it anyway (via the X1), using credit I got from CDKeys. I've got AC4's Freedom Cry DLC to finish first, and then I'll play either Tomb Raider or Ryse next. |

Strange I see a different price, I haven't checked via the Xbox yet though and still unsure whether other costs will be added to it.

If you have a Facebook account, you should "Like" CDKeys.com for a discount code. It brings the £50 code down from £41.99 to £39.89. I got my last XBL Gold sub from SimplyCDKeys.com (different site, same kind of thing), but have bought my last few XBL Store credits from CDKeys.com. If the prices hold, I'm likely to get my next XBL Gold sub from CDKeys.com as the last time I checked they were even cheaper for that than SimplyCDKeys.com. |

I'm actually enjoying it so far! The combat is quite repetitive, and there only seem to be three different types of filthy British Barbarian :D but the story is interesting enough to keep me going, plus there are enough cutscenes to break up the combat. The only other hack 'n' slash I've played that I actually enjoyed was Heavenly Sword, because the characters, story, and voice acting were all good. I found God of War boring, DMC4 boring, and Ninja Gaiden boring plus frustrating! I played up to part-way through chapter 4 last night in one sitting. Done the beach landing ("Saving Private Marius"), and signed off at the start of the York bit. |
