Is that for playing Video/Music or storage of X1 games?

Just been searching and I've ordered one from Amazon.

Storing Xbox One games, it is better than the existing internal drive and can recommend it, a few other people in the X1 thread are also using it.

Does it give you an option of what drive to install a game?

From memory it asked me if i wanted all games installed on it when i first used it, but can't remember if there were any other options.

The whole drive installation was very simple.

Plug it in, the Xbox recognises it and tells me it needs to format it which takes maybe 5 seconds.

Then it asks you if you want to install games on it or music and video.

You can easily move existing games over to it from the internal drive.

Basically if you're considering external storage then get 1 or similar you won't regret it.

I got mine 11am yesterday.

What I will do is put the older games I don't play so much.

I took just under 1 hour to transfer 46GB, that was one game.

The thing that is bugging me is when I turn off the X1 the drive goes into a pulse mode, so I need to put something to dull the light. :D

1hr seems a terribly long time, but then i never timed mine.

I recommend putting your most used games on it as the drive is far quicker at loading off the external than internal, just transfer the games while at work or through the night, job done. :)

2 glass display cabinets from Lidl. I was beaten to the first 3 shops by a pair of guys who were taking all the stock of them and filling their manky van.

I beat them to the fourth shop though, and had to fight them both off as they tried to walk off with the last 2 I had put into my trolley.

They drove off after verbally attacking the staff over lack of extra stock.... and nearly rolled their overloaded van on the first corner.

Our 19" CRT monitor developed a flicker, fixed by a good whack sometimes so time to get a new model. This runs at 1600x1200 and wanted at least that resolution.

24" Benq monitor
Wanted a 16:10 to get the vertical estate so have been looking at one of these for some time. Amazon warehouse had a "Used - as new" for £192 so went for it but previous owner had removed base to wall mount and didn't keep the screws so had to fork out £4 for 30 (only needed 4).

Called Amazon and a very nice lady refunded 25% (£48) as can't exchange so I have a "new" monitor (all packaging, stickers etc in place) for £148. Not too bad.

Good job matey. You're due some serious brownie points I'm sure. The reviews look good but I'd be very interested on your thoughts when you've used it a few times, especially the drying. The reviews on your link look good but there's always a couple which make you wonder whether they're using the same machine...

PS I read on the machine (and some others) that they're a bit deeper than the normal appliance so if there's pipework or a tap site directly behind the machine that can cause problems. Did you notice anything like that Taff?

Taf 06-01-2015 18:40

Re: What have you just bought?

I have read The Book of Destructions and you have to be careful how you set it up, especially with regards to wash weights. But that's the same with most washer dryers AFAIK.

The missus has put a damp load in now.... 1hr25 to wait until it's drying time.

The svelte Mrs Osem has something similar and creates all manner o' healthy (and sometimes not so healthy) smoothies, soups etc. Today I had beetroot, strawberry and banana but she likes to blend all sorts of stuff like ginger, kale/spinach, carrot, celery, sage/rosemary, turmeric, apple, oranges, peaches, grapefruit. The other day we made a lovely chicken, chorizo and butternut squash soup - yummy.

Apples are a good fruit to use when combining green veg and fruit because if you use red fruits the result is a horrid brown...

If you have never tried it I can recommend using frozen fruit with natural yoghurt to make what turns out like ice cream but is much healthier. Ripe bananas freeze really well and you can use frozen strawberries or whatever too according to your taste. You can add small amounts of veg like carrots, cabbage and sprouts to this and you'll hardly notice in the final product. Great for kids who don't like veg.

AFAIK It's down to character encoding, the mailer is useing Unicode whereas this page uses Western. I suspect Al's posting is using a Unicode character.

Another school jacket.
Helly Hansen Parka Jacket, how many jackets can a 12 year old go through? Let's hope this one lasts a bit longer than his last one.

A MAHA MH-C9000 WizardOne smart AA/AAA battery charger ... £49.95 new (and still current model), £4.50 from charity shop.

If I'd known that Powerex (the brand on the box, which sounded like some Chinese crap) was MAHA (only ever seen the super-smart chargers by that name), then I'd probably have stuck some extra in the collection box.
