They did - this is the Sky way for saying it

Not all Sky Sports channels are available with Virgin Media. You get all of Sky Sports with Sky, with five channels in high definition including Sky Sports News HD. You wouldn’t want to miss any of your favourite sports in high definition, so Sky Sports with Sky is the best way to make sure you see every moment.

Oh I see what you mean now.

It look like Sky forgot to add Sky Sports News HD to the list when they was last updating the page.

I have noted that Sky have added ''Sky GO'' and ''Sky 3D'' to the page since I was last seen that page last year.

could it launch on virgin because we know new hd channels coming in the near future

Virgin Media Don't panic Tony Dalton, Kyle Sanderson and Clive Knott.....We've got more HD channels being added to our extensive portfolio in the near future. :)

We've come along way in a year and a half, when we only had one HD channel (BBC HD).

Watch this space, we'll release more info. when the time is right.

Maybe the red button deal is not for all sport as Todays test cricket has highlights , match stats , Twitter available through red button on Sky.

Soon it will be even easier to catch your team on telly, thanks to the Sky Sports red button.

If they’re not showing on the main channel, all you need to do is press the red button on your remote control, and Bob’s your uncle, you can scroll through all the games and select your side. It’ll work for all 2011-2012 Barclays Premier League matches, plus any UEFA Champions League match, ATP tennis, US Open, Heineken Cup and more. Plus, your clever red button unlocks loads of news and stats, too. And an extra bonus, from late spring you can use it to track down smaller sports events, games or highlights, too. Just keep an eye out for the red button appearing on your Sky Sports premium channels. Nice one!

Denphone i think VM will possibly have a watered down version just returned from a mates who still has sky sports on vm,and yes there is no red button functionality ie stats ect ect.

But i suspect it may work for match choice on saturday, but as i said i do not think vm will get the full version judging by what i have seen over the summer.:(

If that was the case, I would have expected Sky to say on their comparison page that a limited service is available to Virgin customers - which is what the page used to say. While you can never be sure of anything with Sky, I would like to think that we will get the whole service once VM have got it all working. Now to be proved wrong...

Yes i would epect somebody to say something seeing as VM are saying very little themselves.! But if /when we do get full fuctionality i will be happy and will once again pay for sky sports on VM i just got fed up thats all. As sports which started on the red button earlier this year and were in phase one disappeared ie we got one west indies v pakistan match via the red button, and nothing from the india v west indies series which was next even though sky themselves showed 2 matches on red button, which were not available to VM customers.

I noticed though denphone they never said they would not return to "pay per view" in the future for boxing ,you can probably be sure if we get more world class boxers they most probably will, sky are a buisiness and they can see which way the wind is blowing in the present climate.

As sky sports is quite costly though i am not surprised it flopped,in america PPV i think is big business the americans obviously do not mind paying another fee on top of a hefty sub, unlike the more sensible europeans.LOL:D

Yes l saw that it could still return to pay-per-view in the future but l think there are 2 reasons for their change of mind and that is the lack of big name boxers and also the economic climate.

Yes spot on denphone and i also think people resent paying a subscription each month ,only to be charged extra for certain sporting events even if they can afford it.

I'm sure we'll still get stats, replays etc when there is a match choice on, but only then, not if there isn't a match choice option.

Well i doubt it i use cricket as an example just because its the sport i follow,in april the first sport on red button was cricket a match between west indies and pakistan it was the first sky sports red button on virgin media.

Since then nothing despite there being two west indies v india matches on red button on sky sports which were not made available to sky sports subscribers on vm,since april yes as far back as that, NO cricket be it stats ,replays or yes even live matches shown on red button on sky sports have been made available to vms sky sports subs the cynical part of me says it never will either.:(

And you seem to have worked out how this happens as well sky simply do not offer the option to VMs hard pressed sky sports subs.:(:(

Yes Richard you only have to follow the Englan/India series and there has been no red button at all with stats and replays and any other bits so one suspects we will get a waterd down version of the red button l am afraid.

Sadly denphone i have already worked out that is the case it would seem, and in the absence of any information from VM themselves i have no reason to believe otherwise.:(

Super league extra now on the red button, it looks like vm are getting a reasonable amount of content if this carries on but only time will tell

Had a feeling this would be the case. If Virgin are saying that the service was due to launch, then this is someone at Sky being very naughty indeed. No doubt "technical issues" will be blamed.

Match choice doesn't start until the 10;15pm programme... not even on Sky I believe (or at least according to Sky's own TV listings)
