Heard some excellent news this morning.

At Uni, we regularly have meetings involving the support staff, academic staff and student representatives. Basically so all three groups can bring up problems they have, or respond to problems bought up by the others. The idea being to hopefully solve any problems before they become major.

Anyhow, a colleague went to one last night, and apparently the students singled me out and praised me for the help I gave them.

Just had a report from Flyboy11's tutor. His reading age has gone from seven point three, to eight point two, this term. A remarkable achievement for him, raising his level by almost one whole year, in the space of just three months. We are so glad that we chose this school for him. It is so difficult for parents, when the choice of secondary schools is so limited. I am going to pass this snippet on to his former junior school; I know that they will be as proud of him, as we are. :D

Well they were cats of course!

This time 5 money boxes to add to my collection of Joycat items made by the Designers Studio in the USA some years ago and a bit like hens teeth to track down either in Europe or the USA.

I also bought a far less rare Tea pot from a different seller but from the same range which is still on it's way to me apparently on the back of a very slow snail.

Now aren't you sad you don't get to see such wonderful works of art every time you use your bathroom. John says he is thrilled that he gets to admire their astounding beauty every single day, and is so glad I managed to track even more of the little darlings to add to my collection. Or at least that is what I think he muttered. :D

Great news, good to hear :tu:

No-where near as important, but gratifying, none the less, I managed to 'kill' my new netbook last night - luckily I had purchased an external DVD drive & burned the restore disks - so I'm now back to factory defaults...

(I'd screwed the recovery partition as well, so without the restore disks I would have been well & truly knackered ...)

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

I visited the CAB yesterday to discuss my financial problems and they have set up an appointment on 4th January to write to all my creditors with offers leaving me enough money to live on each month. I'd reached the point where my outgoings were more than incoming :erm:.

I feel a bit liberated as I'm dealing with my problems. I had to withdraw everything in my account and opened a new one with a different bank and put it all in there before my credit score is completely fubar-ed. Then I contacted all my 'essentials' and re-directed all my direct debits to the new account. The mortgage will get paid, along with associated costs and my car.

I slept for the first time in weeks last night. I know its just the start of dealing with problems I've created myself, but i've done it :)

On the CAB website, it states you should keep in touch with your creditors and I'm just not up to facing them at the moment and my appt with CAB isn't until 4th January. Do you think its a good idea to send them a letter explaining I'm suffering financial hardship and I have a meeting with CAB to discuss payment options? I suppose it might bide me some time...

Hey, just an update for you guys.

Won't go into to detail much but mother and daughter are both doing fine, according to the doctors they were both very lucky, the little one swollowed a little bit of the mothers blood and was very pale.

Both are doing VERY well and i couldn't be more happier, currently Emily is in the special babies unit, sadly they won't be home for christmas but health comes first, heres a little pic.

That's a beautiful niece you have there Frankie. :)

Luckily Emily will never remember the details of her birth and early weeks of life and there will be other Christmas's for the family to celebrate together in years to come. :)
