Fox is developing a comedy (animated) spin-off from the X-Files.

The potential series is called The X-Files: Albuquerque and centers on an office of misfit agents who investigate cases too wacky, ridiculous or dopey for Scully and Mulder.

I like it. This is the kind of classic orchestral theme from TNG/DS9/Voyager which I would happily see the Picard theme replaced with.

HBO are developing an 8 episode series called Peacemaker
(apparently a character from the yet to be released Suicide Squad sequel).

This is along with at least three other DC series currently in development (Strange Adventures, Green Lantern and an unnamed Gotham series).

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other TV Snippets

Perhaps no surprise, but Amazon are looking at a spinoff from The Boys

The show is currently untitled, and will be set in a college for Supes.

Quote:

The spinoff is set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (or “supes”) that is run by Vought International. It is described as an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys.
I'm not sure how good this would be, but at least we will still have Season 3 of the boys itself.

Ewan McGregor will soon be donning Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi robes once again.

During a Zoom appearance on the BBC’s “The Graham Norton Show” Friday night, McGregor revealed that Disney Plus’ untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series is finally set to begin filming in March of 2021.

“It’s the Obi-Wan Kenobi story, I suppose. It’s not all me, but it certainly will be a lot of me, which is good,” McGregor said of the show. “We start shooting it in March next year.”

Though the Obi-Wan-centric series was first announced back in Aug. 2019 and meant to begin filming the next year, the shoot was delayed when writer Hossein Amini left the project in Jan. 2020.

Based on the comics, 10 episodes have been ordered.

Amazon are developing an I Know What You Did Last Summer series. I am not sure how that is going to work unless they do it as an anthology series with a different story each season perhaps spread over 10 eps like Harpers Island.

Many of the fall tv series are yet to announce premiere dates and CBS has reduced the length of the season/number of eps of its series for this 2020/21 season. More info below but series affected are:

NCIS: Los Angeles, The Neighborhood, Blue Bloods, Bull, Magnum P.I., NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans, SEAL Team, Mom, Young Sheldon, Bob Hearts Abishola, B Positive, All Rise, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, and SWAT.

It is a shame because there are excellent series like Seal Team which I can't get enough of.

It's loosley based on Terry's book Guards! Guards!

Quote:

The Watch is generally regarded as a bunch of incompetents who walk around ringing their bells without accomplishing anything, which is largely accurate. Carrot's arrival changes this; Whereas the existing officers are either cynical, incompetent, mildly crooked or all three, Carrot is honest, straightforward and idealistic. Additionally, he is 6'6" tall and enormously strong. Having memorized the Laws and Ordinances of the Cities of Ankh and Morpork, on his first day he tries to arrest the head of the Thieves' Guild for theft (the Thieves' Guild is permitted a quota of legally licensed thieving, a concept that the book of ancient Laws does not take into account). Brought up as a dwarf – dwarves are a literal, dutiful people – Carrot has an absolute dedication and conscientiousness that unnerve his colleagues who view them as bordering on the suicidal in the face of the reality of Ankh-Morpork life. Carrot's policing style is reminiscent of traditional idealized portrayals of British police, but astoundingly, it actually seems to work.

Carrot's enthusiasm strikes a chord with Vimes, who decides that the Watch should try to carry out its ostensible duties. Vimes begins investigating the dragon's appearances, which leads to an acquaintance with Sybil Ramkin, a breeder of swamp dragons. Ramkin gives an underdeveloped dragon, Errol, to the Watch as a mascot.

'Powder Mage' means nothing to me, but it does look interesting from reading the article.

Yeah, it was the start of my day during the school summer holidays back in 1993 or 94. Power Rangers at 8:30, X-men at 9 and Saved by the Bell at 9.30. I think they were all on Channel 4.
