The ad opens with a family at home and about to experience High Definition TV from Virgin Media for the first time. Handed the remote control, the son turns on the TV and the living room fills with light as we join a football match in full flow. At the touch of a button the scene changes and the room is filled with penguins. As the remote control is raised once more soldiers crawl across the living room floor and, as a final explosion strikes, the family sits back, awestruck. The ad closes on â€œVirgin Media. Amazing HD. No extra monthly fee.â€

That will be a hard act to follow when they launch 3D TV! :2cents:

I know im a monaing mini but just Sky Sport 1 and 2??? What about 3 and 4?

Im a tennis nut and most of the tennis is on SKy Sports 4 :(

Because ofcom only ruled on Sky Sports 1 and 2, so Sky can still tell VM to jog on when it comes to the others.

It depends really on the outcome of Sky Movies which was refereed to the competition commission.

What we really need is them to be forced into wholesaling Sky Movies HD as well, then there's no reason for them to withhold the other HD channels as they'd have lost exclusivity on the core premium channels, and Sky Sports 3 & 4 aren't really worth anything as exclusives.

Whilst it's still just Sky sports 1 and 2 HD they have to offer there's still more than enough there for them to withhold the rest. VM gain 2 HD channels, whilst Sky keep hold of the 10 movie channels, and Sky Sports 3 and 4. 12 more "premium" HD channels is a big selling point, whereas just 2 isn't.

To be honest, l was watching a HD channel last night, and too me it doesn't change the picture. its look like the normal.

Hmmm.... Arthur, the difference between Eurosport and Europsort HD is phenominal!...

I grant you, the BBC picture on V+ is so good it looks HD sometimes ....

According to this mornings papers Sky News is going HD on election day,will VM veiwers be getting it to? anybody know.
