To be honest Andrew I'm still not convinced either way , something is on the horizon that's for sure however it may not arrive in the next few weeks. Sky always remain tight lipped about these launches.

Agreed, I think a 4K box will be launched later in the year. But not in the main holiday season. This "leak" won't do Sky any harm though.

That article makes no reference to the 'Watch from start' feature which is basically a shortcut to On Demand via the linear Sky Movies channels , it allows channel browsers to watch the movie being shown on the linear channel from the start via the green button prompt. I'm not a massive linear watcher however it works pretty well on the occasions I've used it.

It wasn't that long back people said Sky didn't need Sky Sports 5 :D

It currently has live sport on nearly every channel with red button active on three channels.

Wikipedia says that Pop Girl will cease broadcasting in the early hours of October 1st 2015. Owners Sony will reuse it slot on Sky for Kix+1.

Yes but look just how often they duplicate the live action on sky sports 1. Middlesbrough v Leeds match on Sunday for example.

Breaking News : Live Sport generally isn't on 24/7 every day hence plenty of schedule filling. :D

The channels are needed for when numerous live events all occur at a similar time , why would anyone be bothered about it I'd much prefer to see Sport in HD as opposed to behind the red button in SD.

The point I was trying to make is they duplicate programs often which seems stupid to me. As for people prefering to watch in HD rather than SD behind the red button I agree with but as I refuse to pay the 7 quid extra for HD sky sports it doesn`t effect me.

Every pay tv channel duplicates content numerous times so Sky Sports is no different in this matter , take a look at the BT Sports channels.

Thankfully I watch very little in SD these days , Sport in HD is essential on a decent size screen for me.

Can`t say I`ve ever seen the same program on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport2 on at the same time,or for that matter the same program on BBC 1 nd 2,ITV 1 and 2 or Sky 1 and 2? I think the point people are trying to make is Sky Sports 5 is no lnger needed now Sky don`t have the championd league.
