Pop quiz now:

Which player, if money was no object, would you sign for your team and why?

I think cost as well, and wages. Fans pay a lot these days, and players get so much more. I'm guessing in old days, cost wasn't so much of a person's wage, and players played for love of game...and ran their heart out, now..they want to roll on the ground and get the oscar for best acting

My player?..GOD..though if unavailable, messi would do :D

Colin25, it was nice in Edinburgh, we were look after very well by the Hearts fans and taken to the club house.

It was a very good night and well look after. And we got the train home at 11.00 (well blotted hic hic).

Its about time Arsenal got rid of Wenger, and coming from a Spurs fans that hard to say.

Arsenal will not win anything now under him, he is passed his sell by date, Arsenal used to be a big club and always challenging for top honours, but not anymore, and signing Henry on loan is a big mistake, he won't be able to produce the goods anymore and Walcott, a great piece of talent, but needs a fresh start to kick start himself - the reporter said he has not scored for 10 games, that is poor.

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has called on the Football Association to investigate an alleged elbow from Arsenal's Robin van Persie after Villa were knocked out of the FA Cup.

McLeish felt the Arsenal captain caught defender Carlos Cuellar as they jumped for a high ball in the 64th minute.

"It was a clear elbow. Would I like the FA to look at it? Yes," said McLeish

Returning to the alleged elbow incident, McLeish added: "Look at my nose, it is a result of elbows all my career. It is something which is dangerous.

"But the referee did not seem to think there was anything in it. I never mentioned it to the referee. I saw it in real time

I have to agree with Alec McLiesh, The officials have to look more carefully at incidents on the pitch rather than there make up.

Look at the penalty that Chelsea, it was never a penalty more like a dive, referee's have to be consistent with the game, elbows in the face behind the refs face and the linos have to be more look at incidents, like off the ball jobs.

The FA are farcical in this manner and order officials to be more efficient in the games, and the stamping which is increasing especially from foreign players.

I gave up reffing for the simple fact that the FA do not care what goes on the pitch and are farcical, they are quick enough to punish managers for comments, but not the player.

Everton have opened talks with Rangers in a bid to sign Nikica Jelavic before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

West Ham had a £7m offer for the 26-year-old Croatian international striker rejected - now Everton boss David Moyes has made his move.

Rangers are understood to want £8m for Jelavic, who missed Saturday's 4-0 win against Hibernian because of illness

Everton have a limited transfer budget but sold Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to Spartak Moscow for £5m.

However, the Toffees are unlikely to meet Rangers' full asking price for Jelavic.

Talks are ongoing in an attempt to agree a deal, with Everton hoping Rangers may drop the price to what the Goodison Park club will regard as a more realistic valuation.

Genk midfielder Kevin de Bruyne will undergo a medical at Chelsea ahead of his proposed move to Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old, who came through the ranks at the Belgian champions, made his debut in 2009 and won a first full cap for Belgium in August 2010.

Andre Villas-Boas had said Chelsea's reported £6.7m bid for the Belgian midfielder was down to "club policy."

Genk have confirmed de Bruyne, who scored five goals last season, will undergo a medical on Monday.

De Bruyne is expected to be loaned back to Genk if he completes his move before the transfer window closes.

Chelsea manager Villas-Boas said: "He's a player the club has scouted for some time. I'm a manager who respects club policy

Well Arsene is very good at picking up rough young diamonds and turning them into polished jewels.

Hope so. Dortmund have a selection of young talent in midfield so grabbing this lad for next to nothing isn't surprising.. sort of. hope he comes good.

In other news Ryo Miyaichi has gone on loan to Bolton and Arshavin is apparently in talks with billionaire Russian side Anzhi...
