So what exactly happens when you type in channel number 146? Have you tried resetting the V+?

When I try to go on channel number 146 a message appears telling me I'm not subscribed to the channel (like it does for Sky Movies/Sports because I don't subscribe to those premium channels). It tells me to call 150 to upgrade/subscribe, implying that I have to pay extra for the channel. Since I'm on XL TV with a V+ box 4HD should be included if I'm correct?

Should be available, so i'm afraid you have to phone up and get it sorted again.

I rang them up again and apparently it isn't live until Monday! I know everybody else has got it though so I'm pretty confused, but I'll wait until Monday to see what happens.

Keep phoning mate or use newsgroups if you know how to report it.

ESPN Channels on Virgin TV tests update:

Todays pics are from Wikipedia and I have also been told they are testing in Ex-C&W areas:

ESPN - Tests broadcasting 2006 Ryder Cup loop (http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/5188/espn.png)

ESPN Classic - Showing an ESPN coming soon slate (http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/1400/espnclassic.png)

ESPN HD - HD test using History HD.

Interesting that History HD is still being used for tests. Seems odd that it is going to be months away if a deal has been signed?

I find it strange that neither History HD or Eurosport HD have launched yet, despite them both having been tested and deals done.

Maybe it is a case of launching a few channels first to make sure that everything is technically working OK? Seemed strange too that they announced C4HD with no launch date, and then launched it 2 days later.

This is the strange way that VM work, it seems that the left arm doesn't know what the other arm is doing, which is typical of them.

But I was telling everyone that Channel 4 HD was testing days before Virgin told you it was coming.

I think it's a technically sound strategy. It's quite a major step installing these bandwidth hogging channels.

Clearly the test results were such that they had the confidence to add C4HD without any negative impact... and they still have ESPN HD to add

I would imagine there will now be a period of monitoring before further additions are made.

You can imagine the negative headlines if all the HD channels were added at once and the whole network went belly up.

As it is there were a few teething problems, including my own area, but on the whole well done VM.

Yes, I just mean it is odd that VM announced that CH4HD was officialy coming soon with no launch date in the press release - only to launch the channel days later.
