The government has to frame it as something they are giving to the public.

With a renewable grid the cheap times are set by the weather not the companies.

Yes that's exactly how it works. I had free power over Easter because it was windy.

We get 16 hours free electricity every Sunday from 8am until midnight.

EDF, if you reduce your peak hous use Monday to Friday (4pm to 7pm) then you get max 16 hours free on Sunday. We're normally not here until after 7 so use very little late afternoon.
