That's right, Sam, which is why I said you have to work within the system.

I think that my post #2718 answers Muppetman's point completely. I don't like exclusive deals which restrict the programmes that people want to see, that's the point. As viewers ourselves, I find it surprising that these exclusivity deals have the support of cable forum members.

However, if this is the world we have to live in and the regulators won't do anything about it, VM needs to jump on the bandwagon or sink without trace.

Sorry but that makes absolutely no sense AMC UK will have exclusive programmes available to BT's under 2 million TV subscribers.

Sorry, MM, but that post makes absolutely no sense to me!

Of course that is the case, but why is it exclusive to BT? It may make sense to the two companies involved but it is not good for viewers. It just perpetuates a situation whereby we have to subscribe to all the various players to get the programmes we want. It's an absolute disgrace, if you ask me.

You were the one who was championing it saying VM should do the same , no wonder so many reply to your posts you do love to change and put a spin on what you originally said

A deal, yes, but not an exclusive deal, unless that is what everyone else is doing.

Do you not think it is possible for VM to negotiate with Comcast and the like for them to launch on Virgin on a non-exclusive basis?

I would like Amazon to launch their streaming service on Virgin, but I have never said anything about exclusivity.

But as I have said, if that is the only way of competing with others who do not have such sentiments, I don't want Virgin being left out in the cold.

Don't VM have an exclusive deal with TIVO ? In every area exclusive deals are done I'm afraid , I may not like it but it's a case of live with it.

Your resentment to it just seems a tad higher when it's Sky doing it.;)

LOL, yeah it was the same when film4HD was exclusive. Ginx TV does not offer the type of programming certain people want though. Thats the only reason people are getting upset by it.

AMC will be much the same as Atlantic though, loads of repeats with the odd decent show thrown in.

True i have access to the USA amc and tbh there really isn't much on it i watch apart from twd and TURN.
There next so called big show Humans has already been snapped up by channel 4 anyway.
As for fear the walking dead viacom have a good relationship with AMC so no doubt it will show up on channel 5 or spike (i know spike isn't on vm yet but it can be accessed through freeview anyway).
People really won't be missing much imo.

Turn is on Amazon Prime. Great series; hope they do a season 3, though it seems far from certain.

Didn't know Amazon prime had it too, i'm tempted by the years prime membership as lately i'm buying a lot of stuff on Amazon and the instant video will be a nice bonus afterall we can never have too much tv ;)

Totally agree, I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't continue. There aren't that many shows where I want to watch every episode but this is one of them.

Amazon got the rights to turn, along with Halt and Catch Fire, another AMC show, about the early days of the personal computer.

Season 2 of Halt and Catch Fire is currently showing as weekly episodes.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)

Virgin could do with upping their game and getting the missing HD channels and hopefully the other channels that are available on the other providers.

As for me taking up Sky's offer of half price for 12 months, it's a non starter for me as I can only get up to 12 mb broadband from BT with them even saying I'm only likely going to get 7-8 mb speeds. There are no plans to have FTTC in my area so for me who has 2 boys either playing online games on Steam, xbox live or PSN and talking to their friends on Skype when playing the only choice for me for broadband is Virgin. I find their broadband terrific.
Have got 152MB, 2 tivo boxes, v+ box, TV XL and phone Xl which I don't need as we only ever use our mobiles but it's cheaper for me to keep the phone instead of dropping it, get this for £75 till October then £82 for 12 months after that

It sounds like a nice thing to claim, but I'm just wondering what are the advantages/disadvantages over buying the DVD/Blu-ray?

You can get the first season of Game Of Thrones to keep for £10 (it's done via streaming any time you want to watch the episodes).

If Anypermittedroute apologises for his unnecessary and offensive comments, I shall share my latest news regarding a channel that people want that are now in carriage discussions with VM.

Edit: Dave rebrands as David tomorrow.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)

VM are just lazy or not bothered about tv imo, ok they may be struggling to get channels but they could counter this by negotiating on demand deals with US broadcasters for example Salem on WGN America hasn't been picked up by a uk network vm could go for on demand rights, the fosters on abc family another show not picked up by a uk network that vm could go for for on demand rights.
Also they could talk to networks such as NBC, FX, FOX about getting their back library of classic shows onto vms on demand platform.
VM could boost their on demand content greatly by doing little things like this but instead they are just burying their heads in the sand eventually they will get left too far behind which would be quite damaging for vm as customers will go elsewhere to get tv content.
