All the football in one place, but also new content too.

Just a thought, thinking outside the box...
What if its the other way around..ie access to Virgin Media TV Subscription and Virgin GO content through the Fire Stick with an Amazon Football Pass? This would propel VM to compete with Now TV. Just saying.

Courtesy of Sky, maybe soon the HD variants of the BBC's regional programming may be made sooner rather than later. Let's hope so. That ridiculous red screen that pops up on BBC HD every time regional programming commences is annoying, and frankly the Beeb should be embarrassed to have this banner appear with monotonous regularity, even during prime time.

I don't, muppetman, I record everything.

Are you suffering the same memory lapses as Den, by any chance? :D

Age does brings memory lapses OB but in your case its likely to be of the triple whammy variety.;)

Not at all, Den, you need to justify these claims of yours!

I can see why muppetman posed that question, looking back. However, the reason the red screen is so annoying is that I have to record the news and national weather and have a separate recording for the local news. So I tend to watch the News at Ten, fast forward to the national weather, delete that and move on to the local news. As the main news is of varying length, more often than not you then have to fast forward through the last part of the main news just to see the local bulletin in SD.

OK, it's not exactly a world crisis, but after years of this, it's about time they fixed it!

Rant over.

l don't need to justify anything as you are the one coming out with all the wild claims OB but alas many of then have yet to come to fruition and nor are they likely too.

It will launch when it is good and ready and not before but it certainly is unlikely to come this side of Christmas if l was a betting man.

Well, the claims are not 'wild', they are broadly in line with industry thinking and just because you don't like the idea of these predicted changes doesn't mean they won't happen. Of course many of these 'predictions', (which are really just my thoughts on what the future will look like - they are not set in stone or authoritative by themselves) are looking to the future, about 15 years from where we are now.

Hell, if 'Tomorrow's World' can get it wrong, I'm sure you can be a little more forgiving! :D

Whereas, you say none of this will happen, but you have provided nothing to back up that view. That's fair enough - it is a discussion forum - but given the considerable number of links I have provided, I would have thought you could have justified this very strong notion you appear to have that nothing will change.

MB said he knew when whatever it is was going to launch. I was trying to discover when that was.

Starz arrives on 29 November, so maybe it will be a double treat. :drunk:

Going further, Sky also says the substitution should also occur if a broadcaster opts to make a regional HD service available on other platforms, but not Sky. This would mean that potentially, Sky viewers would find an HD service with different regional programming on channels 101-104, and would have to scroll down the channel list to find the correct regional programme.

Cable viewers in large areas around London have had to do that since its inception. (eg Bedford & Tunbridge Wells where the local channels are in the 800s). Be interesting if Sky screws it up in even more areas.
