I know that some people do seem to be experiencing more re-boots than others. I had to re-boot mine between Dr Who and DWC as it stpped responding to the remote, which was really annoying. Likewise I don't experience too many EPG issues. Can't wait until all the menu screens are in HD either!

It's not perfect by any definition, but the problems are relatively minor and it is certainly the best mass-market DVR currently available.

Okay. Gratuitious plug time. Read my full review here: http://www.virginmediainfo.co.uk/tivo.shtml

If I were to go to a lap dancing bar these days it would be for a drink!:D

Well l have now had Tivo since Wednesday and l have to admit it is a very impressive piece of kit which is light years ahead of other set top boxes that l have had, everything moves much quicker than my other boxes which are now relegated to the conference league.
l believe this box has tremendous potential and now it is up to Virgin to realise this potential.

Is there no BBC red button functionality then? Anyone know when it'll be available?

In development, expect June I think.

This is the one area that the tivo is weak in at the moment is the interactive features and hopefully they will add these features quickly.

When you set up your wishlist go down to category and it lets you pick HD,Found this whilst playing and it works a treat is actually listed on my box as psychoville*HD i have done the same with torchwood but only put it to record new.
It then chooses the HD version instead of SD

I'm really going to have to find some time alone with my TiVo to have a play around with the wishlists. A full house with the kids being on holiday has not given me and my new baby enough quality time alone together. Kids back at school Tuesday, off work on Wednesday, not long to wait!

I'm loving Tivo already. Like the way it puts series into folders with the option to play all. Have tons of recordings and only 10% of drive used. My V+ would have been almost full by now.

My series link on Megastructures gave me seven copies of the same episode recorded last week. I guess this is another of those poor guide programming results. (Oh well, doesn't take long to delete the extras and it made sure I didn't miss it!)

Very good and well presented review Carl; definitely worth the maximum tivo thumbs up!

Sorry, I do have to disagree on this bit on Youtube though:

Personally, as the vast majority of these will be copyright-infringing clips uploaded by YT users, I don't think that VM should be making them available so easily. In fact, I don't see any reason or necessity for YouTube to be available at all anyway. That's just my opinion though. I have my PC for internet access and my TV for watching TV. Of course, streaming movie services are another thing entirely!
I think it's a great feature. Why come away from the TV to switch the PC on to get information that is available from one click on the TV you are already watching?

Now, if they also added a link to Internet Movie Database, that would be great, though a lot of that information is there already, just not as complete.

shock horror :D I agree with Carl , I personally see YT apps useless I'd rather use the full version on my computer , pretty much the same opinion with Twitter and Facebook.

I like the way you can watch a programme and then hit a button and get Youtube info on it. Great.
