Just as a matter of interest, I was asked this question today and wasn't sure of the answer, how will this world cup be decided if it is all square after 90 mins.
Is it extra time then penalties, or extra time then the golden goal ?

I have tried to find the answer but to no avail.

I seem to remember hearing that the golden goal was not going to play a part this time around, wasn't that how France won it last time ?

I think you are right, no golden moments this time around, it's the dreaded penalty shoot out, I wonder if England will bother practising them this time.

Well done to Liverpool... spit spit or should that be well done Stevie Gerrard?

Pretty exciting cup final.

An excellent game for the neutrals, TBH I thought West Ham just shaded it on the balance of normal play, cracking goals from Gerrard though.

That is how I saw it as well :tu:

A good advert for football, all round, the spirit in which the game was played was excellent & the referee played his part well, too.

Both Teams played an outstanding game i thought. As a Londoner, i wanted West Ham to win, But Probably the best F.A Cup Final i can ever remember.!
Congratulations to all who took part! :tu: :)
Stupid rule with the penalties though, should have been the Golden Goal rule applied.!

So, no Ledley King who's been outstanding for most of the season, but Theo Walcott's in, who has yet to play in the Premiership. Talk about a surprise selection - no-one else will know anything about him (including the England players!

No West Ham players then :(

I was at Cardiff yesterday in the stadium. Was utterly fantastic. the whole 2 hours and 1/2 went by like it was nothing. To be honest, West Ham were utterly fantastic. And we had a right go at Liverpool cos they were nothing short of shambolic in the first half.. (now where did that happen before ? ;) ) However Gerrard pulled us back into with some cracking goals.

Only downpoint of Cardiff was the bloody M4!!! took 1 hour to do 5 miles!!

very good game should raise profile of the fa cup a bit. I think west ham were hard done by but they paid by price when gerrard started limping and they stopped man marking him.
