I was last on here on the 6th March and the crack on here hasn't changed a bit. You've still not got Atlantic and your "Coming soon to Virgin TV" thread still has about 95% of the comments that having nothing to do with anything coming soon. Yes I'm fishing a bit and I'm not going to deny it but what have you got in the last 6 months that would convince me that Virgin now offers a better channel line-up to Sky?

The story I saw some weeks ago says that Sky want an carried deal for Sky Bravo to be on Virgin Media signed before Sky confirmed an launch date for Sky Bravo.

So Liberty has some balls then:erm:

Personally as a SKY customer I think Virgin have done tremendously well since the turn of the year to close the gap on SKY. There is not too many worthwhile channels missing from Virgins line-up. Ultimately it all depends what you are looking for.

BT Sports 1, BT Sports 2 and ESPN being added to XL at no extra cost is great for the sports fans. Plus it's multiroom and accessible via Virgin Anywhere.

As I SKY customer I had to pay £15.00 registration fee, pay £15.00 per month and can't watch the channels in my bedroom. I have to pay a separate monthly subscription to BT, which is a pain in the ass, and I can't watch the channels as part of SKY Go.

Here is a list of recent additions by Virgin. There are a few other channels I've missed:

ITV2 HD
ITV3 HD
ITV4 HD
TLC
TLC HD
TLC+1
BBC Two HD
Quest+1
DMAX+1
More4+1
CBS Drama
H2
Animal Planet HD
Investigation Discovery
Investigation Discovery+1
Animal Planet +1
Discovery Science +1
Discovery History +1
Style
Discovery Home & Health +1
Vintage TV
TCM HD
TCM 2
Eurosport 2HD
France 24 English
NHK World TV
Al Jazeera English
Cartoon Network HD
Zee Café
Zing
France 24 French
ARY News UK
Sony SAB
Rishtey
UMP Movies
Al Jazeera Arabic
The Africa Channel
Ginx
Drama
Nickelodeon HD
BT Sports 1
BT Sports 1 HD
BT Sports 2
BT Sports 2 HD
ESPN
ESPN HD

SKY still have the wider channel selection, but most channels are terrible. In terms of an overall TV, Broadband and Phone experience Virgin are starting to edge SKY in my humble opinion.

BT Sport included in XL , tv that doesn't lose signal in rain , GINX TV VM is the only platform in uk with a 24/7 gaming channel.

Never really had a problem with this personally. I did however lose all TV service via Virgin Media TiVo a couple of times, once for 2 days, whilst their network was down. Scottish Gas dug up one of Virgins cables in error

The lesson is, regardless of TV provider, it's good to have Freeview built in to your TV just incase :D

I've just had the latest firmware update for my SH2 pushed through to me, if any new channels were going to launch would they have been pushed through with this as well or would they be seperate?

Channel launches can happen anytime from 12.15am to 5am.

But nothing has been confirmed as launching tonight.

The BBC have picked up the Netflix story:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24024364

"The BBC understands that Virgin may offer Netflix as part of a bundled service."

It looks like Netflix may become part of XL?

BT Sport and Netflix in XL, that would be huge. SKY will be watching this very closely.

It looks like Virgin might be building a cost effective Sport and Movie offering to rival the expensive premium services on offer from SKY.

As stated earlier if Netflix does go into XL, SKY would be mad to give up their exclusive channels to Virgin. If Virgin get access to SKY Atlantic and some of the missing HD channels, why would anyone choose SKY? **

** I mean anyone who lives in a cabled area that can choose between both services.

TBF we had a car go into the green cabinet a few years ago it was chaos no vm service for days. As you correctly state it's always wise to have freeview as a option or loads of stuff on your pc lol.
