Yes it has gone.

Yet again VM giveth with Colors and take away with Zing.

Strange they seem to be concerned that a FTA channel is included in a pay package after all this time, sounds like a load of tosh to me.

It seems clear VM are following a path of adding premium channels, of the last 20 or so channels that were last added to their line up how many were premiums?

BizAsia says Zing remove may only be "temporary":

ZEE Network and Virgin Media refused to comment on the rumours saying that the decision was "a mutual agreement between both parties". ZEE Network further added that the removal was "temporary" and it may re-launch on Virgin once mutually beneficial terms have been agreed.

An off air slate is broadcasting confirming it's removal saying B4U music provides similar programming which is also a FTA channel on Sky, why didn't they remove that too?, in fact why not include Zing in M+ if they are worried about in being in a premium package.

Sounds a load of nonsense to me.

They have added 14 premium channels relatively recently, how many basic 'pay' channels have been added to XL in the same period?

It goes back to what I have suspected for a while, the pricing structure simply dosen't appear to allow for it.

Virgin cant just move an channel from one package to an other.

Virgin and the owner of the Channel need to sign an new deal.

I assume the problem is that Zee Network were charging VM to carry it, when Sky get it for free?

But they can remove it altogether!

Seriously though surely the deal must have come to an end to remove it, don't they usually just agree new terms in those circumstances.

Anyway what's done is done, Colors will be a great addition but it's worrying that some new additions of late seem to be followed by the removal of other channels.

Or perhaps VM charge Zee to much for carriage?

No one knows the procedure of channels getting onto the VM network, it has been asked many, many times on here.

Unlike Freesat and Sky which are both open platforms and publish their tariffs in the public domain, I accept they are totally different types of platforms though.

I think Virgin agree new terms late last year to carry all the Zee channels but only an SIX month deal to carry Zing to give Virgin and Zee more time to agree new terms for Zing and that deal was up last night.

It's a shame, people on DS seemed genuinely excited by Colors arrival but then find one of their other channels get's canned.

Never mind, six months is never long enough for VM to strike a deal ho ho!

Their pricing structure is totally inflexible in my mind, just one of their many failings

Maybe this thread name needs changing maybe what's coming to VM and what will it replace 2011.

The only thing Coming soon is our price rises and more vague dates and false promises if you look at their track record in the last nine months.
