I hate how the article states sky keep subscribers due to having sky atlantic. please dont stroke the ego of the evil $ky owners... its probably a correct statement but no one could ever prove its sky atlantic that keeps sky its customers its probably their very cheap introduction offers.

Indeed as they want companies to pay a kings ransom for SA content which frankly is unrealistic but Sky knew that anyway.

Sky offered it to vm vm wouldn't pay the asking price fair play to them but end of the day it was offered to vm, so constantly saying "Sky don't want anyone o have it" is wrong. It should be "Sky are willing to let others have SA but at stupid prices" :p:
Anyway anyone really wanting SA can get it via nowtv for as little as £3.49p/m with a little bit of work ;)

I'd agree with you on this one, Andy Gray, despite the problems he had is still an excellent commentator. I just can't stand Michael Owens droning nasal voice.

5* new hours next month.

Viacom own 5* will add 7 hours a day from August 1st.

5* will broadcast from 9am to 3am on Virgin Channel 151 from August 1st.

I reckon Lineker will not stand for any of that pitch-side nonsense.

I noticed that towards the end of last season that they moved to the pitch side studio used for Fletch & Sav for half time and post match. That worked much better in my view. The pitch-side stuff is very much a Jake thing and apparently not popular with the pundits.

As to Owen I'm with you on replacing him, have horrible feeling it will be Andy Townsend who we'll see more of rather than Andy Gray.

It did seem a jake thing as he loved being in the pits on f1 so you can imagine him wanting to be "close to the action". I hated it.

As for Owen will they replace him or will they not want to admit they've made an error in the first place by hiring him? I'd imagine he's on big money too so how long will his contract be for? I'd even take Townsend over him!

Owen will continue to cover PL and FA Cup as he has another year on his contract but Champions League is new so perhaps they may try new options, and with so many games to cover they might use Owen for second choice games with Jake. We'll know soon enough.

As to Townsend, no better than Owen in my view, just a different type of annoying.

Mind you if you are drawing up a list of potential co-commentators not on SKY who would you pick after Gray? Sorry in danger of going way off topic.

P.S - La Liga UK Rights bidding gone to second round after SKY bid lower than before and BT showed interest. Would certainly increase the value of BT Sport Europe.
